Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell have been arrested following a domestic dispute.
According to The Associated Press, police were called to the couple’s New Canaan, Connecticut home on Saturday, where they were detained on charges of disorderly conduct.
Update – 12:00pm ET: At a press conference this morning, police described the altercation as “a very common domestic dispute” in which they were “obligated to make an arrest.” There were minor injuries, but did not require medical attention.
Update: 3:30pm ET: A judge declined to issue a protective order determining that the couple are not a threat to each other, according to SFGate.com. In court, Simon and Brickell told the judge they felt the protective order to be unnecessary.
