Radiohead will reconvene this summer

What’s the status of Radiohead’s ninth studio album? Last we heard from Colin Greenwood, the band was still taking it easy following a lengthy world tour in support of The King of Limbs. In a recent interview with Nashville Cream, Colin’s brother Jonny has offered a new, more exciting update.

According to Jonny, the band is “meeting up at the end of the summer, and we’ll make a plan” for their ninth studio album. “But, you know, we’re a slow-moving animal, always have been. I guess we’ll decide then what we do next,” he added.

In the interim, Jonny plans to follow up his recent appearance at Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival with additional orchestral performances alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra. He’s also scored Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film, Inherent Vice.

Below, revisit Radiohead’s performance at Glastonbury 2011.

How many times can we hear about these guys “meeting up” or “going back into the studio?” I never believe a word they say. They could announce a new album next week or 5 years from now and it wouldn’t surprise me. This isn’t really news anymore.
