Watch: Lykke Li’s depressing video for “No Rest for the Wicked”

on April 10, 2014, 10:33am

Those of you who like to abscond into depressing films like Blue Valentine are in for a treat. Lykke Li has returned with another video supporting her third studio album, I Never Learn, due out May 6th via Atlantic. Directed by Tarik Saleh, “No Rest for the Wicked” pits Li amidst an interracial love affair, in which her seafaring lover comes and goes like the wind. There’s a vintage wash over the three-and-a-half minute clip that recalls a director like Valentine‘s Derek Cianfrance, and a sense of isolation that rings true to the song’s lyrical visuals. It’s beautiful stuff that deserves your attention below.

For more from I Never Learn, listen to the teaser track “Love Me Like I’m Not A Stone”Li also recently released a song called “Du är den ende”, written specifically for Swedish crime thriller Tommy, where she made her acting debut.
