I know, I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but there’s still no update on Modest Mouse’s next album, the long, long-awaited follow-up to 2007′s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. What I do have news details for, however, is the band’s forthcoming summer tour.

Isaac Brock and Co. will spend much of July and the early part of August touring North America, playing shows in the Midwest and all across Canada with Broken Social Scene leader Kevin Drew. The tour culminates with a co-headlining show alongside Brand New at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens, NY on August 9th. See the full docket below.

Whether this means the band is any closer to release their new album remains to be seen.

Gee I remember when they used to poop out fully realized works of art every 2-3 or so years. Each unique in sound and theme. 7 (prob 8) years and no new album? Can’t say I didn’t see it coming. The 2007 album sounded like a caricature of MM, I could tell the well was drying up right then.
