Cage the Elephant, Pearl Jam, and “Weird” Al Yankovic take the Ice Bucket Challenge

on August 16, 2014, 7:04pm

Earlier this week, we challenged Cage the Elephant to take the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Though the band is currently touring Europe, frontman Matthew Shultz obliged and, in turn, nominated three other worthy candidates: Ellen DeGeneres, Pete Rose, and The Trailer Park Boys.

Shultz isn’t the only rocker who took the Ice Bucket Challenge: Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready accepted Steve Gleason’s challenge. He then nominated the rest of Pearl Jam, Duff McKagan, Dave Matthew Band’s Stefan Lessard, and friend Mike Wells.

Update: Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder has accepted the challenge.

As did “Weird” Al Yankovic:

Your tagline of “Two rockers…” implies that Weird Al Yankovic does not rock. I do not like this.
