The first eight seconds of Foo Fighters’ new album are intense

on August 08, 2014, 1:17am

Today is 8/8, and with it comes our first taste of Foo Fighterseighth studio album. It’s just eight seconds in length — anyone else sensing a theme here ? — but it’s certainly a promising listen. “All rise!” Dave Grohl screams, his vocals sounding as impressive as ever.

Foo Fighters’ as-yet-untitled LP is due out in November. More details could be revealed as soon as Monday.

Could 2015 be the Rock/Metal renaissance we’ve been waiting for?
Slipknot, Foo Fighters, releasing new albums and quite a few new names rising up, I can’t wait!

First I thought he was saying AllRiiiiight, but by the end, it sounded more like All Rise. Either way, it is a great sounding scream that even Kurt Cobain would approve of. I think. Not that I knew KC or anything. Sounds good to someone who hasn’t got any Foo Fighters music stored anywhere. Perhaps that will change, due to this 8 second tease. Love it!!!

Anonymous

And its a song about Dave burning his mouth on some hot rice and being really angry and angsty about it?

Also, there is a building with the shape of an eight on the leaked album cover.

The picture itself is made up of buildings and landmarks from the 8 cities they recorded the album in, with the building shaped like an 8 in the middle.

That’s like saying metal and post-hardcore singers will lose their voice just because they scream. If you do it correctly, you won’t. I’ve actually had this conversation with Jeremy McKinnon from A Day to Remember. He’s been doing it for a long time and his clean vocals are still just fine

Anonymous
August 8, 2014 at 2:49 am

Pfffft I’ve heard Jeremy Mckinnons voice tear multiple times on stage mid scream/clean vocal. Not much of a benchmark for the intricacies of screaming when you can’t even scream your own songs live
