Arcade Fire’s recent cover of the Beverly Hills Cop theme song might’ve led some to believe they’d be tackling awesome movie soundtracks on their Reflektor tour from here on out. But as the band proved last night in Santa Barbara, they’re not quite done paying homage to rock’s legends.
After taking on The Smiths, R.E.M., Blondie, The Clash, Prince, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jane’s Addiction and Guns N’ Roses, Arcade Fire offered up a growling cover of the Dead Kennedys’ 1979 punk rocker “California Über Alles”. The performance featured all members donning their papier mâché bobblehead costumes; Win Butler looked about ready to start a mosh pit. Watch fan-footage below.
