Chicago Open Air Festival to debut this July

on January 29, 2016, 4:33pm

Chicago was already America’s most fertile ground for music festivals with the presence of Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Pitchfork, North Coast, and Spring Awakening. It’s about to get even more crowded, as a new event called Chicago Open Air will debut July 15th – 17th at Toyota Park in nearby Bridgeview, Illinois.

Chicago Open Air is being produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, the same company behind Rock on the Range Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio. This year’s Rock on the Range lineup includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, At the Drive-In, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, and Death from Above 1979, among others.

According to Chicago Open Air’s Facebook page, the festival will feature 60 rock music acts as well as a craft beer village and — wait for it! — a “gourmet man food” village. Whatever that means.

The first headlining act will be revealed on February 9th with the full lineup following on February 16th.
