Bill Murray is bartending at his son’s bar in Brooklyn this weekend

on September 15, 2016, 10:12am

Bill Groundhog Day, Ghostbustin’-ass Murray. The man essentially does whatever he wants — and that’s not just talking about his cinematic roles. He’s been known to crash karaoke parties, birthday gatherings, and even once stepped behind a bar during SXSW and served everyone shots of tequila. Usually, these acts of Murrayness are off the cuff, but this weekend, Brooklynites will have the chance to witness a great future Murray story without the randomness factor.

Murray will be bartending at his son Homer’s new bar 21 Greenpoint. The younger Murray opened the spot with his partner Syd Silver to replace their previous endeavor, the restaurant River Styx. Beginning at 7:00pm on Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th, the star of Lost in Translation, Stripes, and pretty much every Wes Anderson movie will be behind the bar serving up cocktails created by Sean McClure — or, if the mood strikes him, tequila shots.

Since this is a planned, pre-announced appearance (via Time Out), expect the bar to get packed fairly quick. Me? I’m going for an early dinner and waiting it out.
