Many listeners thought Jimmy Eat World dropped off the face of the Earth after high school, and that’s fair enough; they certainly haven’t had a hit as big as anything off Bleed America or Futures. But the band is actually a pop punk stalwart, and one of the best in the genre, for that matter. They demonstrated that solid consistency as they supported their upcoming ninth studio album, Integrity Blues, with a performance on Colbert last night.
JEW performed the LP’s lead single, “Sure and Certain”, the most comfortable radio rock hit they’ve had in years. The band members looked as professional as they sounded, all pressed button-ups and nice sweaters. Check out the video above.
Integrity Blues is out October 21st through RCA Records. JEW is in the middle of a tour supporting the release, and you can find those dates here.
