Touring assistant for the Cat Circus is an actual job you can apply for

on September 08, 2016, 1:55pm

If I go missing tomorrow, never to be heard from again, there’s a very good chance it’s because I’ve run off and joined the circus. The cat circus!

The Amazing Acro-Cats is a troupe of very talented felines who tour the country performing circus tricks. And before you ask, YES, THIS IS 100% REAL.

Samantha Martin, an expert animal trainer, thought up the whole idea as a way to promote cat-training awareness and support feline adoption across the country. Since their inception, The Amazing Acro-Cats have appeared on The Tonight Show and MTV, headlined big events for PetCo and PetSmart, and even appeared in a Megadeth music video.

The cats’ repertoire of tricks involve hoops, tumblers, skateboards, hoisting flags, reading signs, and rolling balls over parallel ropes. The show also includes a bowling match between a cat and a chicken (!), as well as a live musical performance from The Rock Cats, led by front-kitty Tuna. Eat your heart out, Thom Yorke.

The Amazing Acro-Cats already have a giant tour scheduled for 2017, but before they hit the road they need to find a new tour manager.

According to a job listing posted to Craigslist, the Acro-Cats are looking for a full-time stage assistant. Responsibilities include cat wrangling, moving stage props, and assisting the master trainer; operating the merch table; assisting with daily medical care; and driving a 45-foot bus full of kittens.

If you need a job, obviously this is the one. The only one. Apply now!
