While not technically a Joe Strummer biopic, Derrick Borte’s new film London Town leans heavily on The Clash frontman. Set in 1970s London, the coming-of-age drama follows a 14-year-old boy (Daniel Huttlestone) whose life changes after he is introduced to legendary punk band. Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Stonewall, The Tudors) plays Strummer.
London Town is set to hit theaters and VOD on October 7th. In anticipation, check out the film’s new trailer above. As the trailer notes, the soundtrack includes music from Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, Toots and the Maytals, Stiff Little Fingers, and of course, The Clash.
