on September 08, 2016, 7:55pm

In between his various commitments to Warner Bros., Ben Affleck found time to squeeze out a Prohibition-era crime thriller called Live By Night. An adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s book of the same name, the film marks Affleck’s return to the director’s chair for the first time since the Oscar-winning Argo.

Like Argo, Affleck also leads the cast of Live By Night, playing the role of Joe Coughlin, “the prodigal son of a Boston police captain. After moving to Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, he becomes a bootlegger and a rum-runner and, later, a notorious gangster.”

The cast also includes Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Brendan Gleeson, Zoe Saldana, Chris Cooper, and Elle Fanning. It’s set to hit theaters on January 13th, 2017 — but you can get a sneak peak via the teaser trailer above.
