Bon Iver’s latest album 22, A Million has drawn reviews from many, including here at Consequence of Sound. Adele, too, holds the album in high esteem, writing on Instagram, “Bon Iver’s music is one of the true loves of my life. Every. Single. Time.”

Adele’s Bon Iver fandom shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In a 2011 blog posting, she expressed her fondness for the band’s debut LP, For Emma, Forever Ago, and her excitement for the follow-up. “I’ve been waiting for the new Bon Iver record since the moment I first heard For Emma, Forever Ago,” she wrote. “My heart was shaken and stunned from the minute I heard his voice on ‘re:stacks’. By far the most moving record I had ever heard.”

She continued, “And the new album threw me back there all over again on Monday when it came out. I’m pretty convinced It’s my record of the year already. You know when someone’s life flashes before their eyes in a film, and every memory flashes before their eyes. It happens when you listen to him sing, but you survive it!”
