Alicia Keys and Jay Z perform “Empire State of Mind” in Times Square — watch

Alicia Keys has a new album on the way called Here, due out November 4th. To help get the word, the R&B singer took to Times Square for a special star-studded performance Sunday night. Jay Z was one of the guests in attendance, and the two did their 2009 smash hit “Empire State of Mind”, much to the rabid excitement of the Big Apple crowd.

Keys also had Nas, Questlove, and John Mayer join her onstage for various collaborations throughout the evening, including her 2004 single “If I Ain’t Got You”. Additionally, Keys slipped in a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, in honor of what would have been The Beatles legend’s 76th birthday.
