In the latest clip from Lee Kirk’s Ordinary World, the Green Day frontman bumps into an ex-girlfriend (Judy Greer), who he learns is managing the one and only Joan Jett. Of course, Armstrong’s playing a nobody and not the Billy Joe Armstrong, so he acts like anyone else would act when talking to celebrities of Jett’s stature. Watch below.
Ordinary World follows former punk rocker Perry (Billie Joe Armstrong) who is ten years into his band’s ‘indefinite hiatus’ and is struggling with his adjustment to the real world (which includes working in his family’s hardware store). When Perry’s hotshot attorney wife (Selma Blair) and precocious young daughter forget his 40th birthday, his brother (Chris Messina) takes pity and gives him the money to throw a huge rockstar blowout in a fancy New York hotel. At the party, Perry’s punk past clashes hilariously with his middle-aged reality as he encounters crazy former bandmates and an old-flame-turned-manager (Judy Greer), who offers him a chance to revive his stalled career.”
The film will see a limited release this Friday, October 14th and will also be available OnDemand. In addition to Armstrong, Greer Blair, and Messina, the indie comedy stars Dallas Roberts, Fred Armisen, Brian Baumgartner, and Kevin Corrigan.
In the meantime, Green Day’s Revolution Radio is currently in stores now.
