Fleet Foxes Robin Pecknold is working on a solo album, shares new music

on October 17, 2016, 10:25am

Earlier this year, Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold debuted a handful of new solo songs while opening for Joanna Newsom. Now, it appears those tracks may eventually find a home on a proper solo album, according to an Instagram post from Pecknold.

“FF record kind of crazy/vast so working on ‘putting babies to sleep/living my truth’ palliative solo album on off days,” he wrote. The post came accompanied by a short snippet of mellow, hushed music, presumably off that forthcoming solo effort.

Pecknold also referenced the new Fleet Foxes album he’s been working on for the last few months, which may be titled Crack Up. In addition to “crazy/vast”, he previously described it as “a different vibe” from “2008-2011 FF.”

This year has also seen Pecknold team up with Matt Kivelcover Harry Nilsson, and make a diehard Fleet Foxes fan’s wishes come true.
