King seen far right
Lush are currently in the middle of one of the season’s most anticipated tours, but they’ll have to close out their trek without longtime bassist Phil King. Today, the English shoegaze legends announced King’s departure in a statement on Twitter; a reason for his leaving wasn’t disclosed.
Because of the sudden news, Lush — who reunited in 2015 after 20 years — have canceled two of their upcoming shows, their Iceland Airwaves appearance on November 3rd and their set at Rolling Stone Weekender on November 5th. They’re currently searching for a new bassist.
King had been with Lush since 1992, joining right before the release of the band’s first proper full-length, Spooky. During the years Lush were broken up, King played with The Jesus and Mary Chain.
