We’ve got to hand it to Muse — the British rockers always find a way to surprise us, whether they’re finding new uses for drones or envisioning how to levitate via magnets. Their latest curveball is a bit more low-tech, but it’s fun nonetheless.
In the spirit of Halloween, Matt Bellamy and co. have dressed up as the Cramps to release a surprisingly faithful rendition of the Sacramento psychobilly legends’ “New Kind of Kick”. Directed by Tom Kirk, the accompanying video finds Bellamy fully inhabiting his role as Lux Interior, clad in black leather and hamming it up in front of the camera. Honestly, when we put it that way, it doesn’t seem so far outside Muse’s own wheelhouse.
