Whoa, Touché Amoré’s cover of Pearl Jam’s “Corduroy” isn’t half bad — watch

Not that we’re one to judge, but we just didn’t think Touché Amoré had a Pearl Jam cover in them. So, imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon their recent session for A.V. Club’s Undercover series.

“Pearl Jam was like, the reason I wanted to be in a band,” frontman Jeremy Bolm explains. “I remember the first time seeing the ‘Even Flow’ video where Eddie Vedder climbs up on the rafters and stage dives and thinking, as like an eight year old kid, That’s what I wanna do. I don’t know what that is, but I wanna do that. So I bought Ten immediately.”

Now, after slaying the world with their post-hardcore sounds, Bolm is living the dream. For their turn, the Burbank outfit chose “Corduroy” out of the series’ list of songs, and brought the Vitalogy single to life with ease. Granted, Bolm is a little more Brad Roberts (of Crash Test Dummies) than Eddie Vedder, but man do they nail that breakdown.
