Parody news site spreads photo suggesting DJ Khaled is leader of ISIS

on November 28, 2016, 10:09am

There’s been a lot of talk lately about fake news going viral on social media. Here’s a prime example: Christians for Michele Bachmann recently shared a photo of President Obama “with the leader of ISIS.” “They are plotting to steal a third term and implement Shakira law in America,” the caption reads. As of today, it’s been shared by nearly 42,000 people.

The only problem is that it’s not a photo of President Obama with the leader of ISIS, but rather a photo of President Obama with rapper-producer DJ Khaled. Also — Shakira Law isn’t the same thing as Sharia Law.

Update: As many have pointed out, Christians for Michele Bachmann is a parody Facebook group. However, a quick scroll through the photo’s comments and you’ll see many people who believe the photo to be real.

Despite what Mark Zuckerberg says, Facebook remains a cesspool of nonsense and misinformation that no doubt attributed to Donald Trump’s victory. So if you see something, say something.
