We can’t speak for The Flash, but things look kosher for Wonder Woman.
Hoping to shake off any dust from this week’s fallout with Rick Famuyiwa, Warner Bros. has now unveiled a new trailer for the next chapter in its DC Universe. “I used to want to save the world, this beautiful place,” Gal Gadot explains as a very meditative Diana Prince. “But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within.”
And then, all the jaw-dropping visuals follow. Watch above.
The film, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), serves as an origin story for the Amazonian princess, who is raised by her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) to be a formidable fighter. She receives her calling when an American pilot named Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes on the island and informs her of a world war taking place.
Written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman will serve as the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe, following 2013’s Man of Steel, this past March’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and August’s Suicide Squad.
Wonder Woman lands in theaters on June 2nd, 2017.
