New Prince documentary in the works for 2017, featuring Mick Jagger, Bono

on November 29, 2016, 6:40pm

The life and legacy of Prince will be honored next year with a four-day festival at Paisley Park, as well as with a reissue of his classic Purple Rain chock-full of unreleased music. It appears the funk icon will also be celebrated on the big screen with a new documentary called Prince: R U Listening?.

The 2017 project will highlight The High Priest of Pop’s early years and rise to fame in the ’70s and ’80s, as Screen Daily reports. Much of the musician’s legendary story will be relayed through his close family and friends. Colleagues like Mick Jagger, Bono, Billy Idol, and Lenny Kravitz are also expected to appear in the film, as are Prince’s protege/former fiancée Sheila E. and past band members Dez Dickerson and André Cymone.
