It’s going to be a great year for St. Vincent.
Already, she’s designed a new Bowie-inspired guitar for Ernie Ball, and unless she drops her new album between now and February, it looks like she’ll keep the festivities going with a little bloodshed, namely her directorial debut.
As previously reported, the singer-songwriter joined up with directors Karyn Kusama (The Invitation), Roxanne Benjami (Southbound), and Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird) for Magnet’s forthcoming horror anthology, XX.
Judging from the film’s trailer above, it looks like horror hounds are in for a treat — after all, who doesn’t love short-form scares — and that indie-rific cast is quite delightful: Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool, and Christina Kirk.
The film will premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival — stay tuned for our review — and will eventually bow in select theaters and Video On-Demand come February 17th. Think of it as a belated Valentine’s Day gift.
