Andy Keil - Administrative Assistant to the Editor and Publisher

Andy made the country’s third largest city his home after escaping the land of rolling hills and never-ending corn fields: Iowa. While growing up, the latest issue of Rolling Stone, Spin, or Filter was always at arm’s reach and he was even suspended from school for reading one during U.S. History; now that’s devotion.

After high school, Andy spent a year at Iowa State University before jumping ship and heading off to art school where he could get a ‘real degree.’ All joking aside, Andy is currently studying Audio Engineering, Journalism, and Photography at Columbia College of Chicago. While concert photography is his passion, journalism and live sound are the parachutes in case the ‘real world’ becomes a little too ‘real.’

Aside from Consequence of Sound, Andy writes for several other music websites including: Beat Crave, The Milk Carton, and Indie Ball while freelancing as a concert photographer.

Surrounded by a few too many tight jeans and non-prescription glasses, Andy remains surprisingly Iowa. And, he’s not afraid to admit that Des Moines, IA is one of his favorite concert spots after Ben Kweller listed it second only to Stubbs Bar-B-Q in Austin.
