Dan Caffrey

Dan Caffrey - Senior Staff Writer

Daniel Caffrey moved to Chicago in the Fall of 2006 after graduating from Florida State University with degrees in Theatre and Creative Writing. Besides writing for Consequence of Sound, he is the Founder and Co-Artistic Director of the Tympanic Theatre Comp, a non-profit ensemble dedicated to producing unsolicited new work in a way that redefines how space is used in modern theatre. They are about to kick off their spring season with Musing, a full length play written by Amy Whittenberger. He has also acted and directed with Tympanic in the productions Splintered Crosses and The House of Weird Death. For more information, visit www.tympanictheatre.org.

Other scripts produced in Chicago include Zombie Christmas 1 & 2 (A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Company), The Thundercats In: Missionary Madness (MOB Productions), and Folkfire (a staged reading at Chicago Dramatists). He has also acted and directed with Towards a Poor Theatre Company, iO, and The Side Project.

This is the first music publication he has worked for, and he can’t wait to write about some of his favorite bands.
