…would rather be hiking up a mountain with her beloved canine comrade while being serenaded by a banjo. But a close second is listening to and sharing about music with you.
The first lyrics she ever memorized were “Pancho and Lefty” (Willie and Merle’s version). She sang along as it played on this thing called a record player. Since then, the tunes and lyrics of everything from Pearl Jam to Patty Griffin, and Ryan Adams to Rosie Thomas have made themselves cozy little homes in the corners of her heart and mind.
Most of all, Jessica is a lover of roots - that grow in the ground, that make a sweet old banjo dance, that tangle up into the stories, pictures and songs of people today and long ago.
A Finance major in college, her break from behind the high rise windows of business landed her in the sweet and bittersweet search for real, raw, broken, and whole things of life…cue music, art, wandering the globe, gardening and late nights on front porches. And here at CoS, a dabble in writing, where she lets bits of it all see the light of day.
Welcome, friend!
