Matt Friedman - Head of Business Development

Matt Friedman first discovered his passion for music in the NY hardcore scene many years ago. Through his experiences in high school and at Tufts University in Boston, his tastes expanded to include hip hop, indie, electronic and virtually every other genre of music.  He graduated college in 2001 with a B.A. in economics and a minor in media studies, and ventured off to pursue a career in the music and entertainment industries.

Matt has held positions at a music marketing and promotions firm, a major music trade association, music and urban culture magazines, and professional sports franchises.  His love for music, film and sports left Matt wanting to learn more about the industries, so he decided to pursue a J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  Matt is licensed to practice in New York, where his music obsession began.  He currently lives in Philadelphia with his wife Diana, dog Beast, and too many stacks of CDs to count.

Matt loves film, particularly indies and foreign cinema.  He is also an avid sports fan, spending much of his time following the NY Jets, Yankees and Pittsburgh Penguins.  If you’re looking for him in the winter, check Killington, VT, where you’ll most likely find him snowboarding or skiing with his mp3 player on, listening to his tunes.
