Matt Friedman - Head of Business Development

Matt Friedman is an attorney at law, licensed to practice in New York State. While he loves to cover shows and write feature stories for Consequence of Sound, Matt spends much of his time behind the scenes. He works in both business and legal capacities to develop the company, pursue business opportunities and establish strategic relationships.

He graduated from Tufts University in 2001 with a B.A. in economics and a minor in media studies, and ventured off to pursue a career in the music and entertainment industries. He gained extensive experience, holding positions at a music marketing and promotions firm, a major music trade association, music and urban culture magazines, and professional sports franchises. His love for music, film and sports left Matt wanting to learn more about the industries, so he decided to pursue a J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife Diana, dog Beast, and too many stacks of CDs to count.
