Matt Melis - Editorial Manager

Matt Melis is a Pittsburgh native who recently completed the Masters in Writing Program at DePaul University. He did his undergraduate work at Purdue University, where he studied chemical engineering and professional writing. In 2010, he will be pursuing an MFA in creative writing.

Melis is an accomplished creative writer, having won the prestigious 74^th Annual Purdue University Literary Award for Best Short Story. His fiction has been recognized by and made available in several publications. He is currently working on a debut short story collection, “Food Stamp Collection,” his first novel, “Apple Pie & Allah,” and his first play, “Casual Fridays.”

At present he is living in the Pittsburgh area and working as an editor and freelance writer for multiple companies. He has plans to teach undergrad writing courses and continue his academic work in Muslim-American studies until he returns to school to complete his education.
