Megan Ritt

Megan Ritt - Deputy Editor

Megan came to Chicago with a box full of books and the highest of literary aspirations. Sadly, she discovered that it’s much easier to collect books than to write them. Mostly undaunted, she recently completed her MA in Writing from DePaul University. She also holds a BA in English and Communications from the University of Michigan (even the winningest program in NCAA history has rebuilding years, so shoosh).

When she’s not polishing her short stories or working as an English tutor, Megan enjoys baking, trolling second-hand stores for new-used books, splashing around in Lake Michigan, and riding her bicycle badly. In the fall, she can be found parked in front of her television most Saturday and Sunday afternoons, swearing loudly at men in Spandex. Her favorite music includes Saves the Day, Rufus Wainwright, Neutral Milk Hotel, and whatever mix CDs her friends have made her lately. She loves exploring new music, and is currently nursing a burgeoning interest in electronica.

In what may well prove to be the greatest moment of her life, Megan met Chris Conley after Saves the Day opened for Alkaline Trio in April ’09, and she’s proud to report that she cried like a little girl.
