Megan Ritt came to Chicago with a box full of books and the highest of literary aspirations. She discovered rather quickly that it’s much easier to collect books than to write them. Almost entirely undaunted, she completed her MA in Writing from DePaul University. She also holds a BA in English and Communications from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).
When she’s not teaching college students the lost art of the comma or polishing her essay collection, Megan enjoys baking, swimming, and rambling around the city. You can find her in front of a bar television on most hockey and football game days. She also loves exploring new music and is currently nursing a burgeoning interest in electronic.
In what may well prove to be the greatest moment of her life, Megan met Chris Conley after Saves the Day opened for Alkaline Trio in April ’09, and she’s proud to report that she cried like a little girl.
Favorite artists: Saves the Day, Rufus Wainwright, Regina Spektor, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bayside, Norah Jones, Mike Doughty, Devendra Banhart, Dispatch, Get Up Kids, Feist, The Chemical Brothers, Zee Avi, the National, the Mountain Goats
