  1. acl doesnt have the beer tent policy that coachella uses do they??

  2. hey all,

RumBum.com is hosting a live video stream of ACL 09. Stay tuned to RumBum.com starting this Friday to watch your favorite bands performing live at ACL.

  3. RumBum.com is giving away free tickets to Austin City Limits Music Festival October 2-4! To try and score free ticks just click or cut and paste this link: http://rumbum.com/sections/10/posts/406

  4. http://2009.aclfestival.com/band/depeche-mode

C3 puts on both Lolla and ACL. The artists overlap on the websites. Tool might be the replacement, but nothing has been announced.

  5. apw got jay-z….wonder what acl will do???

  6. Has anyone noticed that Lily Allen’s date for the Austin City Music Festival have been taken off her website. Also the scheduled October gig has been removed from Pollstar’s tour guide. What’s up with that? And why is she still being promoted for the show?

  7. FYI: 3-day passes have sold out! single days are still onsale…hmmmm

  8. DANIEL JOHNSTON!!! HI, HOW ARE YOU???

  9. may have trumped planned trips to all other shows…

  10. Awesome lineup.. Just bought my tickets!!!

  11. it says 04/28 on the main page in the bottom left corner. i’m excited about what we don’t already know.

  12. website changed a bit too….

plus originally it said the lineup was coming on 4/28, but now it has been changed to “2009 lineup coming soon”

    wonder what the deal is…..

  13. if you haven’t seen, these bands are further “confirmed”:

    http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/HennyJen/3185_643320478737_29615133_38660901.jpg

Pearl Jam, Thievery Corporation, B-52s, John Legend, Mos Def, Sonic Youth

and check out the acl lineup on their website, I think the thievery corporation picture is up right now. I bet that they release one a day till the release. They’ve already done Pearl Jam and now Thievery Corporation, so we’ll see…

  14. that has to be a pearl jam confirmation, right?

  15. Just got this tweet from ‘aclmusicfest’….

“This is pretty cool..I recommend you check it out: http://www.aclfestival.com/lineup.aspx

  16. suggestion box: book austin’s most bad-ass band, the sword. represent local, we’ve seen ghostland enough already. plus these acl hippies need a little metal in their granola-band-line-up.

  17. since ACL and Lolla are both run by C3
expect a ton of crossover bands
so check out lolla’s confirmed and assume a bunch of those will play ACL
like the eels or the dead weather

  18. Both Wilco and Ben Harper have albums due out this summer with tours planned yet no Austin dates. I’m thinking ACL is in their futures. Also makes sense for Jack White’s new band the dead weather to be there. Just speculation but wouldn’t be suprised

  19. 2009 Outside Lands
PEARL JAM • DAVE MATTHEWS BAND • BEASTIE BOYS
    INCUBUS • BLACK EYED PEAS • M.I.A. • JASON MRAZ • WEEN
THE MARS VOLTA • THIEVERY CORPORATION • MODEST MOUSE

    mmmmmmmm?

  20. did anyone else see that DMB, Pearl Jam AND Beastie Boys are all rumored at Outside Lands?

What the fuck - I want a unique ACL, not San Francisco garbage.

    Bring on Faith No More.

  21. I have a mega huge raging boner right now

  22. Hey “Texas sucks D”. Where exactly do you live my hateful little friend? Because say what you will about the rest of the state of Texas (though I would put it up against the remaining 49 anyday) but if you think Austin sucks then you are just a clueless, raging idiot. I’ve been to all the majors and ACL is one of the best run, high quality and fan friendly fests of them all.

  23. Sarah Siskind is basically a Bon Iver confirmation.

  24. This festival would be cool as shit if only it wasn’t located in the worst state. Id rather give myself a dirty sanchez than have to go to this festival

  25. Ok.. So I saw all the little equations.. Here is how it goes.. Lets do it rock paper scissors style.

    ACL beats Lolla
    Bonnaroo beats ACL
    Coachella beats Bonneroo
    Summerfest beats Coachella
    SXSW beats everything else.

    Any questions?

  26. omg omg omg. PJ, DMB, Beastie Boys, and Thievery!!!

  27. The advanced tickets just went on sale.

  28. It says confirmed by an insider. Which is pretty much like a rumor. And i like how you originally put a link to Consequence of Sound, which is the site that you’re posting on. Someone needs to show you how to use the internet i think?

  29. DMB is confirmed according to this site. Nothing official from DMB itself though.

    http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/music/entries/2009/04/05/acl_fest_advance_tickets_rise.html

  30. DMB is confirmed according to this site. Nothing official from DMB itself though.

  31. Advanced tickets on sale Tuesday:

    http://www.aclfestival.com/tickets.aspx

  32. and bonnaroo doesnt stack up to rothbury.
    rothbury > bonnaroo >=Camp = Waka

  33. PHISH muthafuckers

  34. Preservation Hall Jazz band on their own website:

    http://www.preservationhall.com/band/index-concerts.htm

  35. where is pearl jam confirmed at?

  36. Looks like we can add the B-52’s, Sonic Youth, John Legend and Thievery Corporation to the rumored artist list. With the exception of Sonic Youth can’t say these additions do anything for me.

    http://www.austinsoundcheck.com/more-austin-city-limits-festival-lineup-leaks/

  37. does anyone know when the lineup comes out???
i really wanna know or if theres a leaked one

  38. Last year the tickets were on sale at least a good month and a half before the lineup was announced

  39. Don’t expect C3 to release the lineup before tix go onsale. They never have and they never will.

  40. Black Star reunion anyone?

  41. If these tickets are really going on sale on April 7th, we better see a complete confirmed line-up soon. These trips are investments and while responsibility is gladly left behind at the concert, it tends to take a little to make it there.
    Please? Soon?

  42. The PBS article is misleading. Whoever reposted it added an “l” to Pear Jam.

    http://www.pbs.org/engage/live-chats/03-16-2009/terry-lickona

  43. Did you even read the entry?

  44. How is twofeetthick.com a source in which you would confirm an act?

  45. ^ amen to that!

  46. yadda yadda yadda…each festival is different and has its own pros and cons.

Let’s just appreciate each for what they offer.

  47. Sasquatch has the non stop music-camp-party like Roo does, has MUCH better scenery, and you can get close enough to see your favorite acts without stage camping.

  48. No festival can even be ranked up with Bonnaroo except for Roth because no other festival has the non stop music-camp-party like Roo does, again besides Roth.

  49. coachella > LOLLA.
    bonnaroo > coachella
    rothbury > coachella
    bonnaroo > rothbury.

    :) hah

  50. Kings of Leon 09 = Jack Johnson 08

  51. oh snap

  52. Oh wow..Kings of Leon :/

  53. You obviously haven’t been to rothbury as it trumps all

  54. Lolla = Bonnaroo = Coachella = ACL = Rothbury

  55. Justine you did the math wrong….

  56. Coachella > Lolla + Bonnaroo + ACL

  57. Does anyone have a clue who might be playing this one this year? I don’t think I can make Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo, Coachella just isn’t my thing either….anyways, just curious as to any rumors….
