  1. honestly dan, you need some anger management buddy. if you’ve been around the south florida music scene, which I hope you have, ethan really helped it. now i truly doubt he made the move out of greed. the man had a vision and it failed.

did it piss people off? yes, but he couldn’t back down after the move. plus we don’t know the whole story. and if you say you do, your are a stupid judgmental fuck. so am i, but you’re a hell of a lot easier to judge.

either way, the fest bombed, it is truly disappointing, and we move on. what really sucks is the fact that ethan, who is actually a really nice guy and far from greedy (and all about making money) lost a ton of cash and it could end up setting our music scene back five years.

who you going to rely on now dan, livenation?

drop the anger, realize mistakes happen and decisions were made for reasons, and get over yourself….

  2. why would any body feel sorry for Ethan Schwartz. He was the promoter that ruined langerado this year

When the announced the venue every one spoke out ,and disagreed with the venue Change

He blamed the feed back on hippies not liking the venue.

He also delayed the line up for months only to come up with the worst lineup possible on December 12,2009

Way to late for any one to get excited thanks but no thanks for making us lose all are deposits plane fair and evething else 5 weeks before the show

Langerado raised the price of the tickets to the last tier as if they had sold the 1st and @ 2 tier out

only to find out that they were only selling 25 to 30 tickets aday.

I feel like we all were put together from the start

  3. EThan would not pay a little bit more money for big cypress.

Im so sorry for all our langerado friends out there

    Ethan Schwartz
blew it greed did him in .

  4. He better be kissing some major Big Cypress ass

  5. iEthan Schwartz greed to make more money and forgot the real soul of the festival is why the ship was sunk before it sailed. Ethan to move to Miami was horrific and he greedy little eyes started counting all that money in his head, dump camping to save money Dump eve thing they worked for to sell more day tickets ,with one of the worst lineups for the price one could ever come up with. The greed continued when he was all ready to move to 3 tier price of tickets because the other 2 sold out,,when in fact very little tickets were even sold at lower price .The hippie crowd he said goodbye to claiming they had no money and was a thorn to the festival, They made 5 million last year after everyone was paid, but this was not enough for him .I love langerado for the last 6 years and went VIP but even Ethan thought he could raise that ticket price to over $450 a ticket for less music less days and a terrible lineup and charge us more for less

I’m sad to see langerado was canceled for all of us but put the finger on one man

The money hungry little promoter that thought he could make 10 million and screw us all.

markam park would have been the best site this year ,with things’s tough in the economy but even with the late late announcement of lin ep and venue Ethan still thought he could double down with Miami.

Kickbacks from city more day sales no camping issues less cost on bands

payback is a bitch and langerdo fans said no way

A lesson well deserved for Ethan no you wont count any money this year and you owe us all one bis ass apology for killing the festival this year

  6. yeah that was out of no where….why did they cancel?

  7. CANCELLED??!?!?! WTF. I was so excited. Whatever, this is bullshit. At least I’m going to Ultra and Coachella, but STILLL, it’s soooo close.

  8. hate to say i told you so….

  9. This lineup can suck it. Is this Lollapallooza vs. 2? This is a fucking disgrace considering last years lineup/setting.

  10. hell yeah i love modest mouse

  11. modest mouse
    gene ween band
    deerhunter
    alberta cross

  12. did anyone read the link “confirming” ween? just because it comes from ween’s website doesn’t mean that it is referring to ween. if you look on the page it says “gene ween band tour dates.” there is no current tour dates for ween. you might want to go ahead and fix this now so too many people don’t get their hopes up.

  13. in my opinion you really have to have a solid goal of getting some beach time in as well as some tunes if you are going to fly to this festival and feel like it’s worth it before you book it. i mean seriously… i would think of it like a weekend in miami (always fun) and then hit the festival, maybe not even all three days type of deal.

ultra lineup is not even in the same league. i mean seriously. for the jamband centric fans, i would say open your mind and give something new a try. no offense to the disco biscuits and the rest of them… but the prodigy. and if you like general livetronica type stuff within the general jamband leauge, your face will be melted over and over and over and over by many acts many times all weekend long. check some live footage on youtube and if you can’t feel that….

    end rant, sorry.

  14. awesome about ween

  15. add Ween to the list for Saturday:

    http://www.ween.com/index.php?content=tourdates

  16. off windish agency site:

    http://www.windishagency.com/tours

    Deerhunter

    date venue city state with
Fri 03/06/09 Club Downunder Tallahassee FL
Sat 03/07/09 Harvest of Hope Elkton FL
Sun 03/08/09 Langerado Music Festival 2009 Miami FL
    Mon 03/09/09 Crowbar Tampa FL
    Tue 03/10/09 Backbooth Orlando FL

  17. I will agree that the Ultra line-up is amazing.

Living in South Florida though HoH makes no sense for me.

  18. I’m thinking Deerhunter are very likely for an addition. They postponed their European tour, but at the same time have a one off show listed for Orlando on March 10th.

  19. Obviously Lang is the better festival, if were strictly talking lineup/location. See here’s the thing though, I can save 340 dollars, see the majority of the acts that I (notice that by saying I, I am expressing an opinion on the acts I would excited for) would want to see that are playing Lang. (Girl Talk, Devotchka, Broken Social Scene, Against Me!, RaRaRiot, Holy Fuck, The Virgins, Murs, King Kahn, and the Faint). Plus I get to add to that list The National, Strike Anywhere, HEALTH, and This Bike is a Pipe Bomb. Then, I can take the 340 dollars that I saved and put it towards going to Ultra, to see a ton of acts that neither fest has, AND I will still have at least 50 bucks to spare. I then get to see Morrissey with that 50 bucks. So, I pay the same amount as I would have if I had gone to Langerado, and yet I get to see…

The Prodigy, Morrissey, Moby, David Guetta, Bloc Party, Santagold, Simian Mobile Disco, Pendulum, the Ting Tings, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, Infected Mushroom, Boys Noize, Cut Copy, Hercules & The Love Affair,Late of the Pier, The Presets Girl Talk, Devotchka, Broken Social Scene, Against Me!, RaRaRiot, Holy Fuck, The Virgins, Murs, King Kahn, the Faint, The National, Strike Anywhere, HEALTH, and This Bike is a Pipe Bomb. All acts I really want to see.

So, If you like more of the acts on the Lang lineup, by all means go. It’s going to be great time I’m sure, and If I had the money, I’d go. But for my own personal tastes, My plan of going to HoH, Ultra, and Morrissey makes much more sense to me.

  20. james…no one cares… send your press releases to the orlando sentinel

langerado is a better fest than HOH though it will be more $$, Miami is so much better 2x than once

  21. Langerado is very nice fest. But I’m going to Harvest of Hope. I live in Orlando, so I could have gone to either just as easily, but HOH will cost me 60 bucks for the entire weekend (Including accommodations!), while Lang would cost me close to 400 just for a ticket and a hostel bed. Easy choice IMO. Anyways, I’m already going to miami that month for certain other festival, one that has a much better lineup… =D

    what he said….

  23. To everyone talking about HoH….

    1. St. Augustine is about a 4-5 hour drive away from Miami. They aren’t close at all. Also, St. Augustine is a ghost town essentially. South Florida is so much nicer. They don’t even compare.

    2. Yeah Against Me! is headlining that fest (which is really fucking weak btw, I like them but really?) and I saw Girl Talk, Ra Ra Riot, DeVotchKa, Broken Social Scene and Bad Brains on the list but they don’t have big jam bands like P-Funk, Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s so that kind of makes them different from the get go.

    3. Everyone needs to chill out about the headliners. Yes, they are weak and yes it is a pretty lame/not diverse line-up considering how last year and the year before had great headliners and made it seem like this year would take it over the top. BUT everyone seems to be forgetting about how more announcements are coming. I think it was 2 or 3 years ago that MMJ was announced as a headliner in February. More bands are coming! There was a reason it took so long to get that initial lineup out. They didn’t have everyone on board yet. So just be patient….

  24. i was at first disappointed b/c of the build up and the rumors of major artists, but honestly, this lineup is solid. I would rather be in Miami any day over St. Augustine. THe town is dead at 10pm….

  25. I think Langerado is doing fine. They have already sold out the first two levels of tickets for the fest.I cant wait to get out the fucking cold and head to down to sunny miami for a few days.

  26. So there’s this music festival (IN FLORIDA!!!) that has a very identical lineup to Langerado this year(minus the ‘headliners’)…and way cheaper. Any thoughts?? Langerado 2009 needs some originality this year, or it’s gonna sink. Big time.

    Source: http://www.harvestofhopefest.com/

  27. yessss I was thinking about the national too. also HEALTH since they are playing that harvest festival as well.

  28. i really hope the national get added

  29. Maybe the national after it looks like they are coming down to st augustine for a different fest

  30. I dunno but I really hope so. I could go for some De La Soul & MGMT

  31. any idea when they will announce any additions? anyone hear any grumblings?

two years ago they added 6 to 8 around this time including My Morning Jacket…..

  32. I think Dave and Rage are much more likely.

  33. GNR going out in March? Could they start at Langerado?

  34. “I guess we know where morrissey will be on the 5th judging by his tour dates-”

Yeah… in transit to South Carolina.

  35. yeah i’m going to say bull crap/malarkey on any major band additions. I think they will add some, but no Dave, Rage, PJ or any other huge addition. They sold out their $120 tix in the same amount of time as they did last year.

  36. I guess we know where morrissey will be on the 5th judging by his tour dates-

02-28 Boca Raton, FL - Mizner Park
03-01 Orlando, FL - Hard Rock Live
03-03 Jacksonville, FL - Florida Theater
03-04 St Petersburg, FL - Jannus Landing
03-06 Myrtle Beach SC - House of Blues

  37. There’s a fairly large word on the street that Dave Matthews Band is close to signing on. Apparently Jack Johnson, Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam are still also being thrown around quite a bit.

My source is not a website but instead a friend of a friend who works with some of the guys in charge of the shindig. Not sure if he’s legit but my friend said he’s pretty reliable and in with the deal.

    We’ll find out soon enough I’m sure….

  38. Since this is only the ‘initial’ lineup, what other acts might show up besides the ones already posted?

  39. you want to see some langerado hate, head over to Jambase…it is out of control, and just plain sad.

  40. man who gave teddy the hippie a frickin computer for christmas?

also while on the subject of hippies, why are they always the first to hate…..

  41. I can picture the board room of old white guys deciding how to best promote this bullshit. “Hmm, maybe if we change our status to “crunk,” that will appeal to the kids. That’s what they’re saying these days, isn’t it?”….Ethan, I hope you got a good price when you sold your soul. wow you guys managed to take the best festival ever and ruin it in less then a year.youll be lucky to pull in 15,000-20,000 this year.by far the worse line up at a festival ive ever seen so far and the venue is just wrong.who the fuck wants to hangout in the middle of ghetto miami for a few day.plus phish is the same weekend haha plan on looseing out on a lot of money on this one cause with this line up and venue your going to loose out badley.ill be at phish havin a good time thinking about how bad this will turn out and just laugh.im sorry mr. langer but you fucked up bad this time and good luck recovering for next years festival

  42. It seems that the delay was due to complications with a headliner. That lineup does not look right, something BIG is missing.

  43. Cool lineup! So when are they going to announce the headliners?

  44. I just think its nuts to complain about an insanely solid lineup that is reasonably priced. It could be better. It could be worse. It will be amazing fun, which is the only thing that is important, IMO. I like REM, but I hated that performance, don’t know what else to say.

  45. Zatz I’ve seen REM suck many times, and i will tell you they did not suck at Langerado. They were frickin’ awesome. I can understand not liking them if they are not your type of music but compared to prior REM shows, they blew the gators out of the swamp….

As for don’t go, to not go based on headliners is assine. You sound like a Bush supporter Circa 2003 where if you offered a different opinion you were labeled a traitor and anti-american….

I’m not anti-Langerado, I’m there in a heartbeat, I’m just stating a dissenting opinion. The lineup has a solid middle and lower level. I’m totally stoked b/c they are bringing bands that rarely come down here. The headliners would be considered the weakest spot.

    Cheers

  46. So don’t go. The people who will go are going to enjoy the shit out of an awesome show. And REM sucked last year.

  47. zatzbatz, this is a step back from last year’s headliners. Thievery, Death Cab, and SNoop do not come close to matching REM, Phil Lesh, and The Beastie Boys.

  48. You people are out of your damn minds. This lineup is incredibly strong. No one will be sad they went to this. No one.

  49. If they have something, they better produce it real fast to breathe some life into this fest otherwise it’s going to sink into Biscayne Bay….

  50. @ken-You might be right, but I hope they’ll stay in the lineup.

So any thoughts on what these missing headliner(s) might be? Reasons? This was the main reason why the lineup announcement was delayed in the first place. I still maintain my RATM possibility. Someone had mentioned rumors about them playing Bicentennial in the spring, don’t know how true that is.They just really would have to have a musically heavier “big name” up there to hold this together.

  51. we are missing like 3 headliners

  52. Here’s an interesting tidbit for you….

Though they say Death Cab and Thievery are both considered headliners, they are scheduled (based on their respective web sites) for Saturday.

We are still missing a headliner ladies and gents…

  53. A.J. have faith, Shane Mcgowan will get bombed and cancel, it always happens, dont hinge everything on that lush, i would love to see him, though

  54. i know i am going to go see Phish in RichMond then Flogging Molly is headlining Irish Fest in D.C. 2 weeks later 59.99 for early bird V.I.P. tickets, that includes beer. this all sounds much better than that one shitty show, travel, and hotel

  55. Where is everybody staying? Camping or hotels?

  56. Nevermind. I think I’ll pass. It would end up costing me over $2000 to go. And I live in Florida! :( Maybe I’ll go to Coachella this year.

  57. Yeah, the 120$ tickets are almost to good to be true, but even so, there isn’t to awful much for me to be ecstatic about. I’ve always wanted to see the Pogues, and a few other bands stand out but besides that, they need another headliner to hold this together.

  58. For $120 bucks, I’m probably going to go. However, I, too am severely disappointed by the lack of “oomph” in the lineup. Thievery Corporation is enough to get me down there, but the hotel is going to be outrageous.

  59. “Michael Roffman on Dec 9th, 2008 at 11:36 am
If it had Morrissey and No Doubt, it’d be a strong, strong line up and a great start to the year. Sadly, that’s not happening. And Morrissey should be on there, as I speculate he’d be big in Miami with the Latin American influence there.”

While there is truth to Moz being popular with that paricular demographic, logistically it was never plausible. This rumor was debunked yesterday after noting his tour itinerary, so to expect seeing him there after that is silly. He plays Jacksonville on the March 3rd and then heads up north to South Carolina on the day Langerado starts (March 6th.) A new date just popped up, and it’s March 13th in Virginia. Did you honestly think his tour bus was going in the complete opposite direction, go past Jacksonville again and then to Miami? He’s going north and not playing Langerado, end of story.

  60. talk about 5 steps backwords

  61. ok. so im totally disappointed about miller lite being the beer sponsor.
if im gonna pat 5-8 bucks for a cup of beer it better be worth it. so i guess ill be smoking twwice as much pot as i had anticipated.
in my eyes $120 pays for mute math, girl talk, devotchka and theivery corp.
so i will get the early birds.
but dave is right. they need more headliners quick!
wtf happened to beck, prince, tool?
    leinenkugels? ;(

  62. If it had Morrissey and No Doubt, it’d be a strong, strong line up and a great start to the year. Sadly, that’s not happening. And Morrissey should be on there, as I speculate he’d be big in Miami with the Latin American influence there.

  63. Definitely short on headliners…they need to add to this lineup and fast if they hope people to make travel arrangements.

  64. this sucks

  65. that is an awful lineup

  66. This is a joke, right?

  67. Death Cab For Cutie • Snoop Dogg • Thievery Corporation (Live) • Slightly Stoopid • Ryan Adams and the Cardinals • Dashboard Confessional • The Pogues • Matisyahu • Flogging Molly • Michael Franti & Spearhead • Broken Social Scene • Cafe Tacuba • Umphrey’s McGee • The Disco Biscuits • Robert Randolph & The Family Band • Pepper • The Faint • Cold War Kids • Steel Pulse • Public Enemy • Gym Class Heroes • Tricky • Girl Talk • Chromeo • Mute Math • Bad Brains • Ozomatli • Against Me! • George Clinton & Parliament / Funkadelic • Tortoise • DeVotchKa • Black Kids • Grupo Fantasma • Holy F*ck • Budos Band • Tokyo Police Club • Lotus • The Virgins • The Gaslight Anthem • King Khan and the Shrines • Lucero • Murs • Ra Ra Riot • Tortured Soul • Rebelution • K’Naan • The Egg • Zac Brown Band • Tigercity • The Aggrolites • Cloud Cult • Spam Allstars • Rachel Goodrich • Blue King Brown • The Heavy Pets • Awesome New Republic • The Postmarks • Suenalo Sound System • Live Painting by LEBO •

  68. just as i suspected.
    NOTHING.

  69. 11:02 wtf?

  70. Temple of the Dog is going to headline two nights.

  71. Why Prince? Coachella already did that. I actually think No Doubt, Morrisey, and Brian Wilson are great headliners.

  72. Yeah hopefully

  73. 20 minutes to go…hopefully

  74. damn it! damn it all to hell!
    no nin!
    no lineup when promised!
    prince?!
    morrisey?!
    come on!
this sounds like bang, ultra and the bear creek festival had a 3some and out popped this god awful creature called langerado

  75. no NIN…. they are in Australia on 3/2….

highly unlikely they would make it back for Langerado

  76. Not necessarily a confirmation or speculation, but the Purple One is rumored to be in the area during Langerado and possibly the reason behind the line up delay.

  77. coming at 11 am not cancelled langer.com

  78. against me too

  79. NIN?

  80. Michael franti posted Langerado on his tour!!!

  81. The festival’s name has been changed to Langrrrrrrrrrrado or Angerado judging by the frustration that has set in. Just glad to have music in our back yard. Here’s to hoping - Pearl Jam, Ben Harper, & Bob Dylan.

  82. They just posted: “Initial Lineup Tuesday 11am”

    And the wait continues

  83. Well if the lineup is not coming out tonight at least the langerado organizers could send us an email telling us that so we can stop waiting for it and go to the bed. That is what is pissing me off

  84. so i submit they wont be telling us tonight

  85. Robot ROck

  86. confirmed that langerado is not cancelled. i have friends with contracts . I can’t wait to see tool and beck!!

  87. white stripes, radiohead, the dead

  88. Radiohead, Eminem, Neil Young (but that’s different than what I said earlier today)

  89. I am still sticking with Neil Young, Beck and My Morning Jacket

  90. 50 minutes and some change left until the great December 8 came and went. I’m still willing to play this game though.

    Neil Young, U2, & Jay-Z

  91. Panic, Moe, Beck, Pearl Jam

  92. OK. Let’s play groundhog day and for the sake of something good to look forward to (erasing thoughts of cancellations)like we did last night. What are the predictions for headliners? Coming from a small town near Seattle and now living in Florida, I still find it funny to see Death Cab as a headliner. I can remember when they played small clubs near Western Wash. U. They are talented and I’m glad more people were able to hear their songs. I digress. Predictions please:
    Tool, Jane’s Addiction, & Beck

  93. No, he plays in Jacksonville on the 3rd — Three days BEFORE Langerado. He then heads up north on the 6th. Obviously a tour wouldn’t switch directions like that.

  94. The morrissey thing could me is heading south actually. He plays in Jax on that monday. Meaning he could headline Saturday night.

  95. I just emailed Tokyo Police Club’s manager, they will be playing and apparently there will be an announcement shortly.

  96. You can dash all those hopes of a Morrissey appearance. He is heading up north just as Langerado starts:

    http://hob.com/tickets/eventdetail.asp?eventid=55573

  97. lotus is playing too

    http://www.lotusvibes.com

  98. this is gettin too much..either give us the line up or cancel, either one would work for me at this point

  99. Where’s your source?

  100. I have not read anything to confirm it.

  101. CONFIRMED LANGERADO CANCELLED DUE TO PHISH COMBACK…

  102. P Funk in the motherfuckng house

  103. Wooo P-Funk.

  104. Bisco’s gonna be there. Late night, hell yea

  105. Hmm..Maybe My Penis can headline..sure it may not be the biggest but it puts on one hell of a show!!!

  106. anyone can start a facebook page

    http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=104345300612

  107. anyone can start a facebook page

    http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=104345300612

  108. Nice find, probably our first headliner

  109. death cab for cutie is supposed to play, check it out:

    http://www.deathcabforcutie.com/tours/

    it’s at the bottom.

  110. shit maybe the fest is being canceled I am glad I have not gotten my plane ticket to florida yet

  111. Ay Dios mio…gwher iz da line up?

  112. A facebook convo…. really? I jus think they would be smarter then to hold a meeting on the future of the festival the DAY OF the lineup announcement. I doubt much has changed in the past few days that would have changed their minds, so they they would have made the decision at least a few days ago. But then again this whole festival seems like one big clusterfuck of fail.

  113. http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=7729306999&topic=7087

The guy who broke the news claims to have ties with members of the planning group….

ALSO, I saw a few things on the myspace wall that people claimed it was cancelled.

    Everything is entirely rumor though…

  114. yep thats what i meant thank you for the spell check.

  115. Source?

  116. you mean doubt it?

  117. dought it

  118. hmmmm….

  119. RUMOR MILL:

    LANGERADO CANCELLED.

The big rumor right now is that the heads of the concert are in a meeting deciding whether or not to continue with the big show. This makes a lot of sense.

    1. Move from November for Dec. 8th for announcement (and delays today)
    2. Lots of bad feedback from move to Miami
    3. Economy bad and many can’t afford to put up in hotel room due to no camping and ticket prices.

Word on the street is that Langerado 09′ will not be and that certainly makes sense. People are saying to expect an official announcement on Wed. or Thurs.

  120. 20 bucks says we wait till Jan 8th.

  121. Rock the Bells got moved to Bayfront Park this year. It wasn’t at Bicentennial.

  122. Anyone catch Rock the Bells tour when it came through (only FLA date) the same venue in Miami?

  123. We called the above number, but just got the machine. We’re trying to find out info, believe us.

  124. My fortune cookie just said.. Patience is a virtue.
But fuggin A, Langerado better be on the phone with Thom Yorke. Or re-activating a cryogenically frozen Jerry Garcia.

Truth is i probably won’t even go unless the lineup makes me.. “jizz in my pants” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4
    haha.

hope everyones favorite band plays… twice.

  125. cane, that’s pretty dick and totally immature of you to put up a number. let the man do his damn job.

website crashed b/c everyone is attempting to get on. i’m done looking for a few hours.

    cheers everyone.

  126. It’s back up… still no news.

  127. Website just crashed. Good sign?

  128. did anyone try calling?

  129. shes a noughty girl iwth a bad habbit a bad habbit for drugs

  130. Ethan Schwartz

    Phone: 954-782-7500
    Fax: 954-782-7509

  131. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

  132. Yeah, you’re just wrong Andy.

  133. andy keep dreaming brother…keep dreaming..

  134. Well both were listed in the email that Langerado just sent out so I don’t know what to tell ya.

  135. no killers and kol are in europe during that time

  136. Ethan sucks

  137. Headliners include The Killers, The Reconteurs, REM, Interpol, Rage Against the Machine, Counting Crows, Kings of Leon, The Verve and many others. Awesome.

  138. Where is the damn lineup it’s PAST 5 already!!

  139. Where is the damn lineup it’s IS 5 already!!

  140. Where is the damn lineup Its almost 5 already!!

  141. I was pretty sure he would be there, he has a pretty big following in South Florida, and has is going on tour this spring most likely for his new album. Whether you like Matis or not, Aaron Dugan is teh shit.

  142. how about Ben Harper, MMJ, Band of Horses, Paolo Nutini, Flaming Lips, Wilco, Black Crowes just to name a few

  143. there are so many great performers that have graced the Langerado stage, yet he always brings back Matis….

  144. cause i cant take another 20 minute rendition of “yah yah, yah yah yah yah, yah yah”

yah. thats yah. i mean why.

  145. No love for Matisyahu? Why not? He’s great!

  146. matisyahu again? that is pretty lame and disappointing. that was one of the 80% I hoped was not coming back….

  147. aw crap!
    matisyahu?

    thats it. im not going.
    unless i win tickets.
    then ill go.
    unless dmb is there.
    then i really wont go.

  148. i’ve been saying that for a while jojo…

as for 5pm? that could be doable, but damn this lineup better be frickin amazing and knock me off my feet. right now, i’m not there…

  149. tokyo police club for sure, look at their touring:
03-06 Tallahassee, FL - Club Downunder
03-07 Orlando, FL - The Social
03-10 New Orleans, LA - House of Blues

  150. “I’ve had a re-evaluation of the situation…. I’m expecting a great lineup in an hour and a half.”

Yes expecting it to come out around 5.

  151. a link was posted here and was taken down…kept coming up error though

  152. I’ve had a re-evaluation of the situation…. I’m expecting a great lineup in an hour and a half.

  153. yeah seriously this is a joke lamearado!!

  154. Britney Spears 3/7/09 American Airlines Arena Miami…maybe she will headline?

  155. so far i’m a bit underwhelmed by this lineup…

i better see some Death Cab, Raconteurs, Black Keys, MMJ, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes b/c Ryan Adams isn’t going to do it alone for me. I need some more good dirty rock and folk rock….

  156. WHERE IS IT?!?!
I grow weary of this game.
Oh, hey look, a band that plays every year is playing again.
    NO SHIT!
    Where’s the HEADLINERS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  157. Tokyo Police Club is playing Orlando on March 7th.

  158. “Not so. In a recent interview with Billboard.com, they said they plan on touring with Oasis this spring.”

My mistake, well I would love to see them at Langerado.

  159. “Don’t expect Weezer, they will tour in ‘09 but I doubt they’ll be touring this early in the year, they are in the studio this fall for their new album, unless they do a second leg to their Troublemaker tour I doubt theyll be there.”

Not so. In a recent interview with Billboard.com, they said they plan on touring with Oasis this spring.

  160. 3/6/2009 10:00AM Michael Franti and Spearhead Langerado Music Festival

  161. Whats the deal with this… we need a lineup,,

  162. Don’t expect Weezer, they will tour in ‘09 but I doubt they’ll be touring this early in the year, they are in the studio this fall for their new album, unless they do a second leg to their Troublemaker tour I doubt theyll be there.

  163. I’m guessing organizers think Morrissey falls into the same draw as an REM in terms of musicians who have reached Hall of Fame status for the amount and quality of albums/songs that have impacted a wide array of listeners.

  164. Is morrissey big enough to be a headliner

  165. so headliners probably will be:

    Rage and Morrissey, and ???

Flogging Molly is Langerado’s answer for Bonnaroo choosing Against Me last year…..

figure Ryan Adams and Tokyo Police Club will be there as well. Well this is definitely turning into an eclectic lineup like the site promised. I’m hoping for some more meat and a better headliner than Morrissey and Rage….

  166. man this is taking foreverrrrrrrr

  167. cmon N Sync reunion

  168. morrisey and weezer? spare me.
ratm? they should all go live in a communist cave somewhere already.
just like stp, if you arent gonna record new stuff stay outta my town. dont be your own tribute band.

  169. NICE!

  170. also throw Ryan Adams and the Cardinals into the mix. They have a show on 3/9 (Monday) at the Florida Theater in Jacksonville. They will probably be at Langerado as well…

  171. i say rage b/c they initially had a concert listing for them on LAST.fm at Bicentennial Park for November. Someone got on and made a comment cursing the person who put it up and mentioned that it isn’t completely confirmed, but they were aiming for Spring at the same venue. This was before Langerado changed its location.

I have a feeling this was a leak they hadn’t expected. But the Morrissey thing does throw it off a bit. announcement should be coming soon today.

  172. Go ALEX! (young)

  173. My final guess was going to be Dave Matthews, Weezer, Beck, but this Morrissey thing is throwing me into a loop. Off to more research…

  174. I think Morrissey is headlining. He has a date in Jacksonville, FL on March 3rd, and its up on Ticketmaster.

  175. Pearl Jam, Eminem, Beck

  176. final predictions:

RATM (which I had heard before), Radiohead, Beck

plus throw in the Flobots and MGMT for good measure

  177. hmm i could see that

  178. I have a feeling that RATM will be there as a headliner, don’t know why, just a strong feeling.

  179. Soundgarden would be about as good as it gets. Too bad Chris Cornell already said that there will never be a reunion. Of course, in this day and age…

  180. These are not my predictions but rather an obscure wishlist. Soundgarden (reunited for the first time since 1997), Public Enemy, & Xavier Rudd

  181. Radiohead, Beck, Muse.

  182. Predictions: Radiohead, Snoop Dogg, Depeche Mode

  183. My Final predictions are Neil Young, Beck and My Morning Jacket for headliners

  184. Final headliner predictions: Beck, Tool, DMB.

    Anyone else?

  185. The Zac Brown Band is playing Langerado

  186. Looks like Eddie Vedder to perform solo early evening on Friday. Weezer headliner Friday Night. Red Hot Chili Peppers & Rage Against the Machine Saturday Night Headliners. Ben Harper, The Shins, and Death Cab for Cutie on Sunday. Actually I know nothing. Just can’t stand waiting to hear the real line-up and wanted to see if we could get some really good rumors going before we receive our emails tomorrow. Sadistic and wrong I know but throw us a fricken bone here. Doesn’t somebody know anything or doesn’t anybody know something?

  187. omg! praise the Lord! I hope you’re not yanking my chain Socrates!!

    We’ll find out tmrw!!

    BeckErado!!!!

  188. njmiami, it is PJ tradition for a “tweet” to happen before a big announcement. “Tweets” announce a specific day to check back on the website through the actual PJ discussion board. This has been done for the prior Bonnaroo and summer tour last year a few days in advance of the announcement. There were no “tweets” yet at PJ which means you can automatically eliminate them from this fest.

  189. i’ll wait until someone actually says they’re not gonna be there… random people NOT posting about something on message boards isn’t what i’d call the best evidence. although i don’t think they’ll be here anyway…

  190. no pearl jam based on the PJ discussion board. Usually there is a hint about a big announcement coming on the site but there was nothing but crickets this time around. So no PJ at Langerado.

  191. omg chill with phish. it always makes me want phish food. mmmmmm

  192. There is only one band that would cause these tickets to sell out by Christmas, and they are already playing someplace else that weekend.

  193. the only way that these tickets will totally sell out before christmas is if langerado somehow manages to get radiohead to headline one of the nights. they head off to mexico a week or so later, so it’s not totally out of the question - just really unlikely. the other scenario would be if there were three really big name headliners… maybe pearl jam, muse, and beck. even then, it would still be tough to see it selling out in a few weeks. you should be fine after christmas.

  194. hey everyone. if i go to langerado this year, which i’m planning on if i like the line up, it will be my time going to any music festival..
just a general festival question.. i was wondering if tickets often sell out for festivals. i know that it probably depends on who the headliners will be, but i’m just wondering if i’ll be safe buying tickets after christmas..

  195. Tv On The Radio anyone? Any word on STS9 or Umphreys?

  196. Have I mentioned how badly I need My Angel, Beck there?????

Pretty Please? I’m praying to Prince, Bowie and Robert Smith for a Beck-erado miracle

  197. TooLs not going too play,
and if they do then langerado made up for the fuck up in venue change.

but i highly doubt they got TooL

but beck, pearl jam, and dave matthews are a little more resonable..

    well know soon enough..

  198. With the Ultra initial lineup announcement, and the fact that Girl Talk is in fact play a show in Orlando after/before his festival appearance, I highly doubt I’ll be going to Lang. The lineup will have to blow me away. If anything, I may get a single day ticket if theirs one really good day…

  199. Anonymous on Dec 5th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
the headliners are going to be tool, beck and modest mouse

If that is true, then get your Langerado kicks in while you can, if you are so compelled, because that lineup would poop the bed.

  200. EFF TOOL

    Beck is my Angel

Modest Mouse ROCK but aren’t headliners

and if the black keys play, i’m so bumrushing the stage and dry-humping them

  201. the headliners are going to be tool, beck and modest mouse

  202. Guys, there is pretty much no chance on earth that Daft Punk plays this. I wish people would stop throwing that idea around. Daft Punk is not going to make Langerado the place where they debut their new album.

They’ve clearly shown they have a flair for the drama and a love for Coachella. It’s Coachella first or something like Glastonbury.

And if I might add, I think DP are more of an Ultra band.

  203. Socrates…I like your taste in music. So far all your suggestions have been spot on in my book. we need some of montreal fleet foxes MGMT(for sure) LCD soundsystem would be amazing..as well as daft punk..girl talk is good too …black keys even better. Cant wait..3 days left.

  204. MGMT would be fun!! They sucked massive elephant balls at Coachella but I was them opening up for Beck two nights in a row and they killed it. Let’s all dance to “Electric Feel”

  205. i was correct with my Girl Talk listing.

Now here is my second one:

    MGMT at Langerado…

  206. seriously? 3 days to go till the lineup is announced and we have no REAL headliner rumors?
as GOB(George Oscar Bluth) would say: “COME ON!”

  207. Don’t worry guys, Bicentennial Park is a pretty cool place for a show. They Miami buildings surrounding the festival will be really neat looking! I’m excited for it to be at this location.

  208. I will sell my sperm/blood to make sure I got to Lang, Coach and Roo. Roo presale tix on sale today!!

  209. hmmm well if langerado pulls out some more awesome bands AND good headliners
i might skip coachella/bonnaroo this year
as they both would be awesome to go to buuut
    kinda at bad times
langerado fits into my schedule so much better

  210. well I would probably bet Tokyo Police Club is coming down to, there is a large gap on the dates

I’m just hoping Ra Ra Riot will be with them and not Harlem Shakes. I saw them open for Vampire W/E and they totally sucked.

  211. Holy fuck, Girl Talk and Bisco isnt a bad start, still think i am saving up for the summer and just going to hit RICHMOND

  212. wow. this is frankly kind of enough for me already.

  213. I have yet to see the Raconteurs, but the White Stripes were one of the better shows I have seen. Three headliners that would leave me a little bitter about missing for Phish would be something along the lines of Daft Punk, Raconteurs and Pearl Jam (though that rumor appears to be dying fast). However, to me, the one thing Langerado has ALWAYS done better than pretty much any other festival, is ensure their middle-level acts are spot on. Two years ago, with Greyboy Allstars, MMW, STS9, Girltalk in the smaller tent, the New Orleans Social Club, etc. was a great lineup. The Trey show was mediocre, the Panic show was pretty solid as always (will never mind Widespread being a headliner) and MMJ threw down, but the shows leading up to those were phenomenal.

  214. Quit bitching….i see that King Khan is confirmed. Nobody that they add to the list will top the shrines.

  215. I saw the Raconteurs at Lollapalooza; incredible.

  216. Who here has seen the raconteurs? The were so good at Bonnaroo, I literally peed my pants a little. Just a little.

  217. break given

yeah i agree with some MMJ and steven if raconteurs and daft punk make it down i would shart myself

  218. I know it’s a lot to ask but, all I want is:

Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Allman Brothers, Raconteurs, B.B. King, MMJ, and STS9.

  219. Britney really needs to chill with the lip-syncing.

How about some Franz Ferdinand? Who would toss their underwear with me? Those guys are adorable. Good music too

  220. Socrates on Dec 3rd, 2008 at 10:13 am
hey iamme, girl talk has rarely come down to sunny fla so actually yeah he is a big reason why some people would go to langerado. plus, he was one of the highlights as lollapalooza last year, a festival twice the size of langerado…

He played here no less than three times this year alone, twice in the span of two weeks in fact. One of those shows was at the Rat on the University of Miami’s campus with maybe 200 people there. I know he is a good time and whatnot, but give me a break. You can still see him in much smaller venues, so that is not generally someone that I think you run to a festival to check out. I would, however, be pumped for My Morning Jacket to make a return, dem boys good!

Regardless I am going to Hampton.

By the way, did you all see Britney Spears is booked at the AAA for that Saturday night? What a disaster that is going to turn into. I hope the number of traumatized youngins is kept to a minimum!

  221. Disco Biscuits will be there. Confirmed!

  222. i just walked in on the crystal ball humping my macbook with meth needles stuck in it
    so sad

i totally agree that girltalk and chromeo are awesome
    never heard of holy f*ck
    ill check them out

i kinda hope sts9 plays (even though my gf doesnt like them)
    they were pretty cool

  223. hey jo:

I got a confirmation for Cafe Tacvba from the label

    put up a link?

  224. also so far bobo, for electronic groups, Holy F*ck, Chromeo, and Girl Talk are actually stellar groups, they might not be your type, but dude, these groups are killer. I’m shocked they got them. All signs are pointing to less jam/bluegrass and more rock/techno/electronic…

now hopefully some LCD soundsystem and I would be sold in a heartbeat

  225. maybe the crystal ball has to relieve itself instead of Prince…

either way, I really really hope he is not coming down

NIN would be awesome. Their light show from the pictures seen on various sites looks absolutely sick

I’m really hoping for some a good folk rock band or two like Fleet Foxes or Bon Iver or Sufjan
and hopefully some good dirty rock like Raconteurs, Black Keys, Hacienda, or Kings of Leon

  226. I saw Girl Talk at All Points West this past summer. He definitely brings it even at large venues like that. He was one of the highlights.

  227. the crystal ball says it could happen
but its been drinking screwdrivers all morning so im not sure how reliable it is at this point

  228. NIN would be cool. I wasnt a HUGE fan but I caught them in Orlando a few weeks ago and WOW. I’m officially n love with Trent and his kinda bi style. He’s so foxy.

What does the crystal ball say on BECK??????? Beck is my BelovedAngel, if he were to grace Miami with his presence I dont know what i’d do

  229. you need a reason to punch puppies?
i just find it generally entertaining.

my magic crystal ball has revealed the following to me:

-many crappy bands will enter, few concert goers will win
-prices will be gouged on ALL items including your beloved BEER!
    (no crystal ball! NOOOOO!!!!!!)
-prince WILL perform. during purple rain he will pee on the first few rows of people and shake off on the security guards
-nine inch nails will be the saving grace of the festival

magic crystal ball, will we at least have leinenkugel as the beer sponsor?

    -signs point to yes

  230. hey iamme, girl talk has rarely come down to sunny fla so actually yeah he is a big reason why some people would go to langerado. plus, he was one of the highlights as lollapalooza last year, a festival twice the size of langerado…

  231. I got a confirmation for Cafe Tacvba from the label

  232. Easy on the Phish guys. They’re playing Bonnaroo. Duh!

How is it possible that the lineup is 5 fucking days away and we have no solid headliner rumors??

I’m going to punch a puppy if Pearl Jam really does play

  233. You can see girltalk in a 300 person club/bar, is he really going to be what gets you to a festival?

  234. Hm, interesting so far I suppose. The only must see act for me on that list is Girl Talk, and hopefully he would stop by orlando on his way down south to miami. He did completely skip the state on his last tour after all.

  235. ^^ if that’s true i’m probably not going. It’s probably going to depend on the headliners for me.

  236. I just saw on the Windish Agency tour listing’s page that The Black Kids, Chromeo, Girl Talk, Holy Fuck, King Khan and the Shrines, and Tortoise are scheduled to play Langerado this year.

Just thought I would pass that on.

  237. uhhhhh….they ain’t playing at the AAA unless the heat decide to play their game against the bulls outside in a park somewhere.
    LET’S GO HEAT!!!!

  238. Socrates, I have a bridge to sell you, interested? There is a -37.6% chance of phish coming down to Miami for the day after Hampton. There was a May or April rumor of three nights at AAA, but even that is highly doubtful. Trust me, I am in favor of any phish show in Miami, but the Monday after their 1st three shows in 5 years, having to board a plane to Miami, having to fly all of the equipment down overnight - use a little common sense in what rumors to believe or even have a slightest bit of hope for.

  239. now rumors of Phish playing a monday night show after langerado at the AAA in Miami

  240. there have been some rumors about daft punk, plus lcd soundsystem.

I’m going to throw one out there, nonheadliner, Noah and the Whale. Canceled their tour and now coming back in March with a bigger jaunt. I have a feeling they may start in sunny fla….

As for headliners, i bet it will be Pearl Jam will be one night, another rock/indie headliner, and then either Allman Brothers or another jam band to appease the hippies not making it to Hampton.

This is the latest (in my recollection) announcement for a Langerado lineup ever…. Hopefully they will knock it out of the park, b/c if they don’t, this fest will sink into Biscayne Bay with chants of “Bang Festival”….

  241. I am guessign the delays are directly related to Phish’s return. The jam-fans will either be there or saving money for Phish summer tour, plus the Dead reunion rumors persist. I am guessing that announcement forced Langerado’s hand into stepping up their headliners, open some negotiations and hence the delay. FWIW, I have heard a Daft Punk headline rumor, which would be awesome…if I was not going to Hampton.

  242. sorry gman i doubt less than jake will be there… actually no I take it back.. i would be really pissed off if they were there. just not the type of langerado music

  243. Line-Up will be announced December 8

  244. Less Than Jake is scheduled to play Lauderdale that weekend so they might be playing. They are great live!

  245. F langerado; I’m going to see phish.

  246. lineup is coming out 12/8

  247. they might as well put this guy in the line up

    http://www.myspace.com/bobrafael

  248. yeah umphrey’s isn’t my favorite. i was hoping for a more un-jammy lineup

  249. woo freakin hoo
    umphreys mcnutsack
    who cares?!?

lets see the dag gum lineup already!!!!!

  250. see you Ken…. call me…

  251. i’m just going to go see fish and save up for one of the big ones over the summer, fuck you langerado

  252. ben based on a different site, Umphrey’s McGee will be there on 3/7

no worries… sorry for the condescension

  253. And, no, I was not being a smart ass about Phish. Just uninformed, although I would have much rather lied and said smart ass.

  254. And, no, I was not being a smart ass about Phish. Just uninformed, although I would have much rather lied and said smart ass.

  255. It looks like Umphrey’s McGee has left that weekend completely open.

  256. each day that passes I have this sinking feeling that this fest will meet the same fate as the ill-fated Bang festival.

Oh yeah thanks for the recommendation Ken, Plato was awesome. He sends his love.

  257. oh yeah, Socrates rims Plato

  258. this sucks, they need to get their head of their ass!!!

  259. I have a sinking feeling that it could be a turdfest like Bang 07. The one that never happened.

Please, just give me Beck and The Raconteurs (or even better the white stripes!!!!!!!

  260. LLLLAAAMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!
    another day and nuthin!
    whats wrong with these guys?
5 bucks says they tank like BANG!

  261. Hercate, this was supposed to be Langerado’s first fest where they were one of the big boys after last year’s breakout success… so the longer they wait, the less interest people will pay

Also, if you don’t like PJ’s music I completely understand, but their show is always stellar, no matter what.

Ben, if you are asking for Phish, either you’re a total smart a$$ or you gotta pull yourself from underneath that rock. They are playing in Hampton, VA the same w/e as Langerado. It was a major slap in the face to the Langerado production team…

As for rumors… they have this crap on lockdown. I couldn’t find a single thing…

  262. What about the first public show for the reunification of Phish?

  263. I just saw Pearl Jam in June at Bonnaroo. While PJ have never been my favorite (not even close), I have to admit they were really damn good.

I could totally see them at Langerado, especially after this year’s lineup. Whether or not they will be there…it’s anybody’s guess.

I think Langerado is reaching the size of the major festies and they can afford to hold back.

Of course, I could be wrong and often am. ;)

  264. Pearl Jam would be a great headliner. To say otherwise is just plain crazy. Personally, I don’t think they’ll be there though. I’m starting to lose faith that they’ll be announcing any type of sick lineup this week. We’ll get one big name, and then a few disappointments.

  265. ok. fine. sorry salah.
    they are getting old
i havent seen them in a couple of years so they might not be as good.
but if pearl jam is the best rumored headliner so far langerado is in trouble
    what are they waiting for?

  266. Coachella lineup is in January. Why the hell is it taking so long for Langerado??? If the lineup is this month they should have almost everyone booked, why cant we find ANY solid rumors or confirmations?

  267. yep… bloc party fits ultra fest more than langerado… if not this week, then I wonder if coachella will beat out Langerado with a lineup…

  268. Looks like Bloc Party is going to Ultra…. too bad. I really wanted to see them at Langerado. I doubt they’ll do double duty in Miami during March.

  269. Pearl Jam sucked ballz @ Bonnaroo. No PFFT! to me! We had to literally run for our lives.

And maybe I got Beck mistaken???? Is there still hope???????

Watch Prince in concert and any negative thought you have of him will dissolve. He is the greatest guitar player I have ever seen

  270. Where did you see that about Beck? I see that he is in Japan for a week, but not the Langerado weekend. He’s booked March 19-25 so far.

  271. PFFT to you salah!
pearl jam always puts on a great show
and now without beck i doubt ill be able to talk my gf into going

im sure prince puts on a great show but his musicianship doesnt trump his douchebagginess.

please jeebus save us from a crappy lineup!

  272. The God that is known as Prince would never grace our shitty ass festival with his presence. Coachella forked over millions to book him and as someone that was in the crowd, let me tell you it was worth every single penny.

And it is with a heavy heart I must report that Beck will be in Japan during Langerado weekend. :’( :’( :’(

I was so sure he was gunna be there. SO SURE. I wish he wouldnt ignore FL as a state entirely. Same for the raconteurs.

BUT….HURRAY FOR NO KOL!!! Even bigger HURRAY! for no pearl jam

  273. Well based on this:

    http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=309422

It doesn’t look like Pearl Jam will be there after all. So… no Kings of Leon, probably no Pearl Jam, no Killers.

Who will show for this shindig? At this point, your guess is as good as mine….

No announcement today… hopefully tomorrow so I don’t have to wait until next week…

  274. i hope the lineup is as good as one of those fake coachella posters!

    http://consequenceofsound.net/festival-outlook/is-it-fake/

    make it happen socrates!

  275. I’m a tool. By Zeus’ beard, how dare you insult one of the greatest philosophers of our time?

    I’m truly truly hurt…

I have a feeling this lineup will be out either tomorrow, Thursday, or next Tuesday.

But Ken we can agree, NOLA is a much better city than Miami. But it would be great if the Magic City could produce a ACL or NO Jazz Fest…

  276. I hope Prince isn’t there. If he is, the media will have to invent some kind of beef between him and another performer to fill their headlines. As you pointed out though bobo, he is a douche bag, so he might invent his own without any help.

  277. so ive heard pearl jam and radiohead. ive heard beck.
ive heard the artist currently known as a douchebag(who has his minion scouring the internet for unauthorized material) - prince.
bowie, the raconteurs, and a whole crapload more.
    where’s the damn lineup?!?
wait! let me check the official website……NUTHIN!
how bout NIN, of montreal(who got shafted with the 7pm sunday MUD STAGE slot), and the chemical bros? eh? EEEHHHHHH???
    I NEED SOMETHING!

  278. sorry Tiesto is booked

  279. That would be one of the worst choices for this festival considering its move to Miami.

  280. here here!!!!!

  281. One band is all they need for it to be a success. The dead and everything else will be just fine.

  282. i am sure they will be very worried if your pissed, and the longer they prolong a line up the more i think about Coachella or even Jazz Fest, which by the way is in a much better city, culteraly and musicly, and don’t forget about food……. and your a tool

  283. You can scratch kings of leon and the killers off that rumor. Killers will be in England based off their web site. Kings of Leon will be in Austrailia. THey better make a club headlining date in FLA or I’m totally pissed.

  284. what does it matter Ken, you said you’d already be there

  285. great, your all music world gurus, how about a line-up now

  286. great, your all music worl gurus, how about a line-up now

  287. Tony, Bonnaroo is still awesome, just intelligent. Festivals don’t last with just one genre of music. They can’t expand and can’t make something called money. To bring in new customers, they must become divergent to adapt to the popular musical culture. Festivals aren’t like Woodstock anymore. If you disagree, remember Woodstock of the 90’s?

Bonnaroo just perfected how to do what the corporate woodstocks couldn’t…. maintain order and present a fun and enjoyable time where you don’t feel like you are being totally ripped off (yet the promoters still make money).

Langerado is now attempting to do that in the south like an ACL fest or Lollapalooza. Remember, promoters are people too, they like food, and nice stuff just like the majority of the population. Plus they want to continue promoting instead of being stuck doing a “normal” desk jockey job. So they have to adjust their festival to meet the buyers’ desire. Does that mean it will stray from the original product? Yes, but before you judge, wait and see a lineup. Then complain all you want, or just go to Bear Creek, or another “jam band” festival later in the year.

So your word for the day my friend, progressive…. Unfortunately, times change (anonymous agrees), and so does everything else. If we all got our wish and time stood still, we would all be seven years old riding our bikes or doing something naive and purely enjoyable. Call me a cynic if you like, but it is true.

Langerado will be great in Miami b/c it is backed by great minds that have been promoting in South Florida for years. They know their population and know what product will attract fans. Hope you make it and enjoy it, but if you don’t, I’m sure you will regret it at a later point.

  288. Can’t afford it, huh? Too bad for you.

  289. Hey Tony… Times change, don’t go.

  290. Langerado used to me a festival for Jam Bands, now it appears to be a garbage show just like Bonnaroo now. Too bad

  291. expect Girl Talk to be at Langerado 2009… won’t say how I know, but if I was a betting man, I would bet large…

  292. ^ based on a different discussion board that is highly reliable

  293. don’t bother holding you breath on this one. supposedly lineup won’t come until the end of the month….

  294. i’m famous on the coachella boards…..

HAHAHA this is too funny. From the consequence of sound website

Muse could be almost expected to be there. The main producer, Ethan Schwartz absolutely loves this band and I really wouldn’t be surprised if they were there. Supposedly Muse posted they were heading to Florida on their site, but it disappeared and is no longer there….

Is “socrates” one of you? Fess up!

  295. Let the rumors about Pearl Jam playing Langerado commence….

    http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=303594&highlight=miami

Muse, Pearl Jam, maybe Radiohead if they stop in South Florida a week before playing Mexico, that would be a pretty sick lineup…

  297. i doubt they will do any shows in ft lauderdale, there are a crapload of clubs in downtown and the design district. been trying to talk my gf into going to coachella if langerado ends up sucking. but if radiohead is there, i think i can talk her into it.
lets have that line up already!!!

  298. maybe Radiohead…. playing mexico a week later for three nights….

definitely not out of the question…

  299. my idea is if i end up getting tickets for a late night show in south beach, I’m going to park my car in one of the south beach lots and catch a taxi.

Or if they have shows at revolution or culture room up in fort lauderdale, hopefully ethan will be smart enough to run buses so people in south florida don’t have to worry about the drive…

  300. Last year I did not see most of the headliners or even most of the bands I wanted to, but the rest of the lineup was so strong that it was beyond worth it. Obviously it will be a completely different concert this time around, but there will be plenty to like if the main acts are not for you. And you get to beat traffic?

  301. bowie and wyclef not my cup of tea. saw wyclef a few years back and he was meh…

definitely will head to coachella/bonnaroo instead if bowie is the main headliner….

  302. bowie would be awesome!
wyclef not so much. unless he brings the fugees!

  303. I heard bowie and wyclef jean

  304. damn server is down so that is why langerado site is down, no announcement until november

  305. read your comments

  306. Who is “Ken”?

  307. Langerado site is down and won’t load…. hmmmmmm

  308. alex, you can put up ken under the “confirmations” page

  309. i heard they were going to reanimate lawrence welk and bob hope to perform on friday night. AMAZING!

  310. lets just get some more and new rumors going this has hit a stalemate and i’m going so i want some new juice

  311. i have heard rumors floating around about beck as well. he hasn’t hit florida in a while so that might end up happening

  312. i heard beck. that would be awesome.

how bout the chemical brothers or basement jaxx? they havent been around here in a minute!

  313. The Killers are definitely out:

    Aberdeen AECC 3/5/09

    Glascgow SECC 3/6/09

There is no way they are flying back to play a show in South Florida the same w/e

  314. The Killers won’t be on this lineup.

Supposedly a British tour will be announced in the next day or so w/tix going on sale next Friday. They will have shows in jolly ‘ole England that w/e….

  315. well at least we can agree on beer.that sunset wheat was killer. I was totally bummed on saturday night when they were sold out of it.

also if you are desperate for travel, they did offer shuttles to late nights (which I’m sure they charge for but better if they get you their alive and in one piece)

as for the lineup, expect it sometime in early november. the one posted is pure crap. i truly doubt the would bring dmb and jack in. The promoters are too smart to do something like that. Expect a more diverse lineup than last year with more indie rock, techno, hip hop, and a little less influence from jam bands. is that a good thing? that remains to be seen….

  316. socrates my friend, i wish you were right about still feeling the effects from the campground. i was hoping id find the dude that sold me those shitty muffins. but thats beside the point.
yeah bang had a crap lineup. but the rumors up top are citing dmb and jack johnson?! puh-leese! i hope thats a lie! last years langerado location and lineup limited the douche baggery.
this years scares me. theyre already saying $175-200 a ticket, which doesnt include accomodations and they are going to spread the bands out around local venues too which means more traveling and $5-8 miller lites (gross). i hope they dont screw it up with too much fluffy/commercial stuff. and please dear sweet lord baby jesus have leinenkugel be the beer sponsor again cause that sunset wheat is…..wait for it….AWESOME!
cant wait for the official lineup.

  317. Bobo jenkins you must still be feeling the effects of last year’s Langerado campgrounds…..

You can’t compare Langerado and Bang! just b/c they are going to the same venue. Bang! failed b/c of their poor lineup, high price, and small lineup selection.

They tried to bring in Kanye West as a headliner, who can’t be a main headliner in any festival. Two, they through bringing 1/2 of the Smashing Pumpkins as a 2nd headliner was also intelligent. Both were supposed to be the foundation drawing in sales, but both failed to do so.

Langerado will bring in major headliners (based on last year’s examples). Remember, REM was highly relevant releasing a high anticipated and praised album. They might have been the most popular choice amongst all cliental. but, they were rumored to play Coachella and Lollapalooza, but Langerado stole them. Plus, this was one of two NA festival appearances.

Beasties were rumored to play Bonnaroo, but once again, Langerado stole them other festivals. The Beasties only played this NA festival.

So you should expect the same level or even higher (4.3 million profit from last year’s fest) from this year’s festival. There will be no doubt that 3 major headliners will draw fans down.

The second/third reasons Bang! failed is because they were charging $150 for two day passes to see 14 main acts and Electronic acts in a tent. Not much “bang” for your buck. If you bought early passes or even the next batch of passes for Langerado you paid 150/170 dollars and you got 86 bands.

So in theory, you really can’t assume Bang failed b/c it was in Miami. It failed b/c it had a terrible lineup (comparatively to Langerado) and was too damn expensive.

Langerado in Miami is going to do just fine buddy, just fine.

  318. This lineup is bubkis…. way too many headliners….

Death Cab, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon, and Beck are strong possibilities b/c they skipped Florida on their last/current tours. Same w/ Jack Johnson, but I would be surprised with Langerado if they signed on for sloppy 32nds….

Killers would be a nice surprise and could if they don’t add Florida to their winter tour

As for the others V W/E screwed them last year, so it would be interesting if they took them back. Rodrigo y Gabriela pulled out two years ago b/c of visa issues so they are a strong possibility.

ALO and Muse are hotly requested bands on Langerado boards…

One that you neglect to mention is Robert Randolph. He pulled out last year, but promised to play the 2009 version:

Sunday Gospel with the Lee Boys
    Feb 22, 2008
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Robert Randolph and the Family Band will not be able to perform at Langerado this year. But don’t despair because they’ve already confirmed their appearance at Langerado 2009.

“Robert Randolph & The Family Band is excited to announce that they will be entering the recording studio next week to begin work on their next album. The band looks forward to sharing more info about this recording in the weeks to come. Unfortunately, due to this scheduling, they will have to cancel their performance at Langerado. They apologize for any inconvenience, and look forward to seeing you on the road as soon as possible.” - Robert Randolph & The Family Band

Taking over Saturday night services will be sacred steel masters The Lee Boys, who will go from performing early Sunday morning to reaaaaaally early Sunday (technically Saturday) morning. Services start at 12:30am so get your gospel on in the Swamp after R.E.M late Saturday night.

  319. No rumors yet??? Come on guys… the lineup is supposed to drop in early November. There must be some buzz already. There are some big acts putting out albums over the next few months. Let’s see… Muse, The Killers, etc. Could they be one (or two) of the headliners?

But I’m a little bit puzzled about the change of venue. Miami is kind of a crappy city. It definitely has its good parts like Sobe or the Grove, but I’m not so sure about this Bicentennial Park deal. Rock the Bells got moved FROM there this past summer to a different venue.

    We’ll see….

  320. what a bunch of crap!
last years langerado was my first festival/camping trip.
it was so much fun and i met so many cool people and saw a ton of awesome bands id never even seen before!

now i live in miami and im glad we got the festival, but they pretty much ruined the whole experience of last years festie.
their myspace friends werent too pleased either.

didnt they see what happend to the last sorry ass bang festival?
if theyre gonna try and bring jam bands to miami dont expect to sell alot of tix.

there are too many stuck up little pricks around here who are just gonna go to a-start trouble b-get wasted c-start trouble as they get wasted and d-sell poor quality drugs to unsuspecting high schoolers with too much money for their own good.

they better redeem themselves by having the sickest lineup ever!

    r.i.p. langerado
