These removals are complete bullshit!!!! I will miss JPNDROIDS
it appears that a japandroids cancellation is imminent.
*insert sad face here*
one of the guys is bedridden until mid june apparently and therefore theyve cancelled most of their N.A tour up to then.
could deerhoof be their replacement?
Slap Deerhoof under rumor because they are now on the playlist!
I certainly don’t think that is an absurd notion. Since the first year was third stage middle of the day w/ a buttload of tech. difficulties and last year they blew up the second stage. (I was there and met them as well) The circumstances I was refering to in my last post, would be a last minute cancellation, how many other bands could fill on a moments notice and would be worthy of the spot. Concerning the darkness, 75% of that set is completely dark. Janes will probably play, but he likes dudes… go get pissed on.
Ghostland is one ofmy favorites…last year i met them and dance my ass to them the last two years…for a band too play 3 years ina row wud be absurd to deny all the other amazing artists and for them too play at sunset wud be stoopid for their lazer show wud be obselete…ill take bets Janes will be there with naked girls on stage..piss off
So are we going to start taking bets whether or not Janes Addiction makes it to Sasquatch!. If I had my way JA drops out NIN moves up and they bring in Ghostland Observatory for the sunset set on the main stage. They have history with Sasquatch! and Trent. (Crossing my fingers)
i agree. but this announcment leaves the door open for cut off your hands.
http://pitchfork.com/news/tours/256-viva-voce-announce-mayjune-tour/
looks like the Heartless Bastards are the final addition to the mainstage on monday, possible dance tent additions to saturday and sunday may be all thats left to come.
Also Erykah Badu vs Girl Talk
horrible schedule!!!!
schedule is out with conflicts galore. these are the worst:
doves vs. passion pit = passion pit
ra ra riot vs. decemberists = decemberists
yeah yeah yeahs vs. bon iver = bon iver
kings of leon vs. crystal castles = kings of leon
dodos vs. tv on the radio = dodos
NIN vs. of montreal = flip the coin
black moth super rainbow vs. grizzly bear = grizzly bear
gogol bordello vs. blitzen trapper = again, flip the coin.
Amanda Blank is confirmed
pearl jam would be mindblowing. its really hard to say what will happen, but my guess is that nothing big will be added to monday.
also am i the only one who thinks that nin should go on after janes addiction on sunday? i realize that they open for them on their N.A. tour, but come on. for one, if its the same (unbelievable) stageshow as they took on the road last summer, it needs to be experienced in complete darkness.
if not, ill be having an early saturday night.
Looks like only one addittion to go and thats a monday mainstage act. Question is are we talking big name add to trump Ben Harper or a sub head, that seems to be what this day is missing. I’ll be wishing for PearlJam or even Bruce Springstine would be great Headliners. I really would love to see The Dead Weather get added as the subhead that day.
from looking at this year and last year, as a general rule, if an act/acts play seattle, they dont do sasquatch.
that plus it seems only two dance acts per night are scheduled in the comedy tent. as of now.
hence bacardi tour @ sasq = unlikely.
how bout rumouring that whole Bicardi Tour?
Make that a confirmed for Amanda Blank.
http://www.myspace.com/amandablank
looks like heartless basterd has been removed
Attn Anonymous: I will not stop adding bands you are jealous of. Please be jealous of the Shins because if everyone hopes hard enough maybe we can get an Add for Monday to boost the lineup.
Champagne Champagne and Other Lives added
ATTN: Sasquatch: Stop adding bands I’m jealous of you having!
I beg to differ on the whole “Shins not coming”
They probably won’t announce that they are playing Sasquatch until after those Seattle shows. They haven’t been there since ‘06. They haven’t even shared “Wincing the night away” with the Gorge so i think its a distinct possibility.
Street Sweeper added! friggin Tom Morello
Street Sweeper added
sorry the shins aren’t in the cards. although i think they would make a nice addition to Monday because of the lack of true headliners.
so the shins just announced dates at the beginning of may thru to mid may, with may 17th+ open after an nyc gig.
two dates at in seattle to kick that off though, so, will they or wont they get added?
id love them to.
Heartless bastards added
Mad Rad Added
The Lonely H? it fits there tour they’d be an amazing yeti stage add
K’NAAN pleassse add
I completely agree!
The Dead Weathers would be fantastic, right now there is no other band I would like to see added more. I am already going to Sasquatch! and I am a Jack worshiper this is a marriage made in heaven. I want a Jack drum solo and I want it now.
I hope the other adds come soon cuz I can hardly stand it. I’m now hoping for The Dead Weathers (Any Jack is better than nun), Cymbals Eat Guitars, Phoenix, White Denim, or some other sweet band. Can’t wait to see Animal Collective, the Avett Bros and Grizzly Bear!
Japandroids
if i remember correctly mogwai had the same sort of tour with sasquatch open last year, but still went unadded.
it would be sick to see them there.
er, looks like they actually added a SF show on the 17th. it suggests a northward journey with all NW states still excluded
why don’t i see anyone speculating that Mogwai could play? the US tour ends with San Diego, then north to LA, and then there are like 9 days before sasquatch and they don’t have any plans. they seem like a perfect fit with some of the acts already playing… it would also be amazing. most of these festival pages have some rumors but sasquatch has been quiet
as a non rap fan, im still uber stoked to hear of mos def.
still doesnt make up for pb&j cancelation, hells bells.
How about Tom Morello since he’s added as the opener for the Jane’s/NIN tour?
Mos Def and Maria Bamford added:
http://sasquatchfestival.com/#/home/post/115
I suppose that Street Sweeper would be considered at least rumored at this point right? Given that they are the opening act for the janes/NIN tour
They are going on tour with Depeche Mode instead.
What? What happened to Peter Bjorn and John?
BLK JKS was added the day after the lineup was announced. Nick Thune and Whitest Kids are playing in the comedy tent, so I’m hoping you are not counting them toward how many musical additions remain. I count nine based on last years schedule. They can always play longer sets this year though.
Not that it matters or anyone cares, but Hockey and AA Bondy switched days and Peter Bjorn & John canceled, so this page needs to be updated.
There has been several additions and on the Sasquatch! home page: Nick Thune on saturday, BLK JKS and The Whitest Kids U’Know have both been added to monday. Six more music additions to go and Justin the Tragically Hip are playing in Seattle soon so I doubt they would play both.
Stop hoping Justin, the Hip are nowhere near Washington that weekend.
I’m still very much hoping for the Tragically Hip
The way I count it there are still nine additions to be made, three of which are mainstage spots. I’m crossing my fingers for The Ting Tings, Metric and THe Saturday Knights for some local Hip Hop.
Crystal Castles have been added to Saturday’s dance tent:
http://sasquatchfestival.com/#/home/post/107
Murder City Devils added to Sunday’s Mainstage!
http://sasquatchfestival.com/#/home/post/99
actually ‘You’re Welcome’ was not pretty damn right. He had numerous additions that are not on the lineup. He had the headliners right for the most part, but the under card was all over the place
‘You’re Welcome’ was pretty damn right a few days ago. Does that mean Metric, The Ting Tings and others that were mentioned there will be additions? Or they couldn’t lock them up?
Hell, I’m coming all the way from Florida!
Better headliners: Wilco, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, some kind of badass reunion, My Bloody Valentine, etc.
I would love an add of The White Stripes after KOL, White Denim, Here Comes the Magic, The Cool Kids and Gnarls Barkley!!!!!
KOL is a great Saturday headliner. I think everybody would agree Pearl Jam would be perfect.
I think this is a very good lineup, but to be fantastic add the White Stripes over KoL on saturday and Pearljam to monday to get everyone to stay all weekend.
who would you have liked to have seen as headliners?
The TV graphic is, I’m sure, just a link to earlier footage from previous Sasquatch performances. DCFC, The Shins, and Fleet Foxes have all played in the past.
Also: Fuck the headliners, what a god damn disappointment.
Not going to lie, there are lot of continuity problems from the website which keeps having a security banner pop up on me all the time. Then there’s the fact that DCFC and the Shins are poping up on graphics. Also wasn’t Tabacco confirmed? There are about 5 or six other things that i’m missing here, but you get the jist.
The radio announcement on 1077 The End, in seattle, included Chromeo and Natalie Portmans Shaved Head.
I’m actually quite pleased by this lineup. The headliners are definitely “disappointing”, but I’m welcoming that after last year. There are easily still enough badasses to get me excited about going, and I can take it easy, cruise around, as opposed to obsessively clinging to the mainstage.
Some nice highlights for sure…but that last day…yikes.
That website is definitely not complete. The banner ads are empty, the dates on the top are wrong, and whats with Death Cab for Cutie and The Shins being on the TV graphic but not on the lineup?
nin are under jane’s? c’mon.
The Wrens? Awesome.
yep….interesting
the line up can be seen at dev.sasquatchfestival.com
A source on the website blog is claiming that he knows the entire line-up with 5 good headliners. All of which he is keeping to himself. He did mention that KOL is for sure (which everybody already knows), and there was a mention of Tool. Who knows where he is getting this. But every rumor I hear makes me excited for tomorrow.
I hope you’re right Josh.
My last minute prediction:
Saturday-NIN and Janes Addiction
Sunday-The White Stripes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Monday-Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon
hahaha
no
LIMP BIZKIT is no longer LIMP
cant wait to see them play nookie at sasquatch
Heard on the end yesterday that the lineup will have a big band reuniting. Who has reunited recently? Rage seems a little past the moment of reuniting to give them that label, maybe blink 182….
I would be really surprised if MGMT wasnt on this years lineup and I agree in 06 I about fell asleep waiting for ben harper to get over so I could watch the Flaming Lips.
Ben Harper and I take turns cumming in each others asses, brah.
But I don’t swallow.
Ben Harper blows goats.
haha ben harper was definitely a huge douche in 06. i could really dig jane’s addiction though. i’m not sure how Sasquatch! they are, but whateva
Though I won’t believe anything until Tuesday I would love to see Ben Harper and Relentless7.
Yo VIP, let’s kick it.
That’s not the full list, brainiacs.
If Jane’s Addiction is there it will be an epic FAIL along with Ben Harper. He was a huge douche in ‘06.
No thank You , Your Welcome. Agreed no local talent or not enough. Everyone knows that half the lineup consist of much more of a NW flavour. Good try though.
You know what would make this festival great? NIN not being there.
funny, Sarah Silverman would not be there and if you had any clue you would know why.
so that makes this list wrong from the start. I thought we went thru this with the coachella board and me thinks if you knew anything you would put the complete list.
thank you

Zach has some new dates for performing. Here they are:
February 19 - New York, NY - 92/Y Tricbeca - http://www.92y.org/92yTribeca (this will be a short set)
March 5 - New York, NY - New York University - http://www.skirballcenter.nyu.edu
March 16 - Boston, MA - Boston Northeastern University (closed for students only)
April 16 - Pittsburgh, PA - Carnegie Mellon University (closed for students only)
May 24 - Sasquatch Music Festival - George, Washington (details to follow)
Los Campesinos! have a Seattle date on April 10th. I doubt they’ll be at Sasquatch.
Led Zep source says they are playing this year!! With Dave Grohl on drums!!
did you post the exact same thing under two different names to try to get it more attention? that’s wierd…
A rumour is not a rumour because it is your wish list?
add Los Campesinos! and The Gaslight Anthem to rumours
both touring festivals in the summer including coachella
have available dates around sasquatch
please add Los Campesinos! and The Gaslight Anthem to rumours
both playing festivals in the summer including coachella and have open tour dates around Sasquatch
Yeah.. I’m aiming for NIN and Beasties, figuring they will headline Sasquatch, take a few days off, then hit up Bonnaroo.
well it is suppose to be the most “diverse” sasquatch ever!
Public Enemy, King Kahn
I really feel the Beasties are coming back cause in 2007 they didn’t get to put on a full headlining show because of the “Crazy Wind Gusts”?
So to appease Felix i will play his game.
Saturday: NIN
Sunday: Pavement, Kings of Leon
Monday: Beastie Boys
Todd Barry is an excelent addition for stand-up.. well done
Felix, I’m gonna throw an assumption out there……….. you probably have no idea what you’re talking about and are in need of some attention. Hence, your posts………… Again, just an assumption.
or there’s the no doubt reunion (fingers crossed its not it) but it would be cool if beck came back
So KOL, NIN, The Beasties and Blink 182?
The top 4 bands are KOL, 2 return headliners, and a reunion that most won’t care about. The 2nd tier bands are great though.
Yeah we’ve all established that KoL will 99% be there.
Felix: Put up or shut up.
KOL finishing their posted tour in San Fran on May 21st. That has to be pretty secure time for a Sasquatch set
Yeah but it all depends when sasquatch booked KOL. If they were booked 3 or 4 months back, were they an arena band then? That is the big question. Because if they blew up after they were signed we could still have some one headline over them. Which would make them a 1b headliner and we would all win.
like it or not, KOL are now an arena band in north america and they will headline.
The Decemberists are confirmed via Colin Meloy twitter:
http://twitter.com/colinmeloy/status/1186827911
Also, they have a May 21 show in Eugene, OR:
http://www.mcdonaldtheatre.com/
Regardless, tour dates are announced tomorrow AM.
So who are the headliners then? This is just not a good year for music fests.
Don’t worry…it’s not going to be cancelled. The headliners are pretty disappointing though.
Yeah, this is all great news and everything. and I guess I realize why Bonnaroo announces their fest so early so as not to lose out on ticket sales to Lolla and not too much to Coachella. It just seems as though Live Nation and Adam Zacks wait an inordinate amount of time to announce anything. How far in advance did they announce when the lineup was going to be for Bonnaroo. They could at least give the fans a set day on that. Maybe via a MySpace or facebook. This is what these sites are for. It seems like Sasquatch is not a very technologically un-friendly festival. They must be paying their Web designers a pretty penny. For news to be strickly announced via the official web site seems completely ubsurd.
The lineup will probably be released within a few days of February 20th.
For Sasquatch 2007, the site was updated February 22nd. I don’t know the exact date for 2008, but it was after February 5th.
Like I said, last year the site didn’t change until February 10th. However, we did have more confirmed and solidly rumored bands by now. I am guessing by earlier next week will see this years logo on sasquatchfestival.com.
Feb 17 , eh ….. that’s awesome, that’s a week earlier than I thought.
but I haven’t seen anything on the Sasquatch Site. Usually by this time they have the new design up.
I Also agree that they won’t be cancelling the show, it’s an established site, It’s been on for 8 years.
Langerado moved venues which I thought was the reason why the ticket sales were sluggish, plus going from Beasties and REM to DCFC and MM also hurt.
Even if Sasquatch doesn’t attract big headliners, the venue and atmosphere will be enough to attract people from Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Calgary and sorrounding area.
Although 1 or 2 big headliners wouldn’t hurt either.
I just remembered that Travis Hay from Ear Candy has been saying that the announcement will be on February 17th, the Tuesday after President’s day. He is a trusting source and other than last year that is when the announcement has been made.
I dont think I would worry about them cancelling the show. Live Nation already cancelled Pemberton this summer, so they have a larger crowd to draw from. Otherwise how are they going to make their money? And since it’s evident they are booking bands already, there is no sense cancelling it without at least attempting to put out a lineup to see what kind of ticket sales it will draw. (like Langerado did)
I guess Bonnaroo or ACL is another option for me, just dont want to spend the extra money on flights if I dont have to.
I think they are big in different markets. In late October they played Seattle at the Paramount (3500 capacity) and I am not sure that it sold out. I will be surprised if they are a headliner at Sasquatch!, but not necessarily dissapointed.
On another note, I was looking through some old posts last year on the Sasquatch! Blog and found that post that was dated Sunday February 10th as being the day the new site went up. If it was the same as last year that would be this Sunday!
I though Kings of Leon would play before the headliner at Sasquatch, but Looking at KOL’s tour schedule, they seem to be playing a lot of Arena sized venues. It looks like they made be a headliner. How did they get so Big? I don’t have anything against them, but I was looking for a
“Bigger Name” as a headliner.
I don’t know. I have been trying to remember when the website changed last year, but I don’t think I had a post for it. I would guess it was by now. However, I remember last year thinking that the last week or so waiting was brutal and long. If it is not up by the end of next week I will worry whether or not Sasquatch! will actually happen. Regardless of how well it did last year this economy has been rough on everything including music and festivals.
yeah thats cool. I’m a chef so my Mondays are Wednesdays. But fairs fair, this shit is getting out of hand. No Website? whats going on?
Bobby, I hate to disagree with you, but
http://sasquatchmusicfestival.blogspot.com/2008/02/heres-part-of-lineupmore-soon.html
It was posted on Monday, February 25th last year.
Schedual was released on a Wednesday last year.
Good Gatch Colin!!
As pointed out on the Sasquatch Blog, Tobacco should be rumoured (if not confirmed) via Myspace
http://www.myspace.com/tobacco
If this is in fact a reference to Sasquatch, then I suppose this also confirms that it will be a 3-day fest for the second straight year.
That is a Saturday. Usually it is on a Monday. Where did you hear/see that?
Feb 28th, line-ups will be posted
Avett Brothers are confirmed
http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/avett_brothers/tours.jhtml
I believe that would be 3 years in a row. He’s in NY the weekend after Sasquatch and in New Orleans 2 weeks before. And as of right now he is currently on a west coast swing. I know there’s no Seattle show but it would be highly unlikely that he would go back and forth across the continent that much. but who knows he is a festival warrior. Can someone explain his appeal to me. I know he gets you to dance, but its like Bob Marley meets Ché isn’t it? That just seems like we should be all sitting in a circle smoking some reef type shit. I just don’t get it? Maybe cause i’m too focused on structured music style. I need verse chorus verse ending in 2 and a half 3 minutes. None of this i’m going on for 22 minute tangent not even resembling the song on the album. There was a time for those kinds of things….. its called before audio recordings. Please people i know its a total capatalistic thing to say but we have evolved into a time of technology and short attention spans. I need my music to sound the same as on the album don’t the artist feel the same way. I know it might not be an artistic artist dream, but i pay $ to go to a concert where i recgonize the songs. This is why i do not understand Michael Franti. At least Jam bands are true to themselves and play whats on the goddamn album.
I don’t like Franti but if they get him it will make no difference to me as they always have him playing at the same time as a headliner I actually like.
Wouldn’t that be 3 frickin years in a row for that joker? just say NO to Franti!
Soo.. Micheal Franti has those exact dates opened up on his tour schedule, which is already surrounded by festivals.. one of the big reasons I go to begin with.
NIN!!!
I got caught up on some rumors and put them on the Sasquatch! Blog. Check it out:
http://sasquatchmusicfestival.blogspot.com/
I guess I had that coming…
Just in.. Rage against the machine are playing! Sasq ‘09
Dude, if you have sources put them out there so that they can be official rumors or confirmations, otherwise stop posting.
Vince Mira Will be performing on Main stage this year Great News
My Bloody Valentine will be performing.
Fleet Foxes will be there
Passion Pit is going to be there.
Looking forward to this fest. 10KLF let me down big time.
Look at their tour schedule. They will be in Portland and Vancouver around that weekend and there is no Seattle date. SASQUATCH. CONFIRMED.
We need an Animal Collective rumour over here.
man..good start Sasquatch!
Peter, Bjorn and John confirmed:

It will be on the blog soon!

Thanks, Joel!
