There is that Sonic Boom festival in Edmonton which may be better.. They don’t have Pearl Jam.. but its a one day fest with much of the same lineup except they have Franz Ferdinand and Alexisonfire along with Metric, the Arkells and a few other bands..
The fact that its cheaper, one day, and in a much better location makes it an easy choice.. Virgin Festival, with their massive budget, is being outdone by a festival put on by a radio station..
Sitting this one out, haha.
Be that as it may, it’s still a PJ show.
Wintersleep added. I like the local talent, but come on, this isn’t a festival, its a glorified PJ concert.

Helloooo… Virgin Fest Peeps!!! My 85 bucks is about to get spent on a REAL festival.. one that has bands playing at it. Anyone else coming to play “Monogamy Fest at C.O.P.”??? hahahahah At this point.. “Drenchfest” in Calgary is a better festival, even if you have PEARL JAM booked… Get with it guys… Mr. Branson??? Any Thoughts???

Whatr is up here Virgin Peeps???? This is LAME!!! While perl jam is a great band.. its hardly worth making the trek out to one if the most difficult places to get to in Calgary, especially when there will be hordes of people trying to get there. Better start ADDING more bands soon… How about great canadian acts like “the Ultimate Power duo”??? or, sloan, or ANYONE!!!! Frigg, I would be happy with The Dudes AGAIN!!! LMAO

Are there any other bands playing this fest?!!! Pearl Jam is an amazing headliner but a couple of more names on Saturday would be nice…where’s Alberta’s Sonic Youth, Franz, Ben Harper or The Pixies?

Is this a one off date for PJ before they head overseas? I’m so confused? And as for the 2nd day headliner, Is it gonna be Billy Talent. Cause that’s worse than the Hip last year.

The Calgary date is no longer listed on White Lies myspace…I’m assuming it’s either canceled or going to be held later in summer/fall…
AND THE U.S. ONE IS ACTUALLY PRETTY AWESOME! HOPEFULLY A COUPLE OF THOSE BANDS CARRY OVER. THE NATIONAL, FRANZ AND PUBLIC ENEMY WOULD BE GREAT!
Wow. They’ve announced the US one on August 30 but can’t announce this earlier one yet. Pathetic.
Actually blink is already playing a dome show, and thankfully will NOT be at VFest. Weezer is a sefe bet. It would be nice to see two balanced days this year. As opposed to the boredom that was sunday last year.
