  1. Hey Guys and Gals! Pledge to volunteer and be entered to win a pair of free tickets and backstage passes to the FreeFest. Head over to http://thevoluntour.org to learn about more shows causecast and the voluntour have this summer and how give back to your community.

  2. It’s a little disappointing, but at least there are some fun bands. Despite what some haters say, Blink puts on an entertaining show. Weezer of course is classic. PE are legends. Taking Back Sunday puts their all into it. Sucks that it’s one day, and sucks that it’s really just a stop on Blinks tour rather than a “festival” as someone else said, but I’ll be there.

  3. It’s not complaining as much as it’s just a voicing of opinions. And any lineup with Blink 182, who other than the drummer can barely even play their own instruments, headlining is NOT “pretty damn good.” I never used to hate them until I saw them play live…what a train wreck it is. Phew!

  4. LOL at the people complaining about an all-day free concert. And come on…the lineup is actually pretty damn good.

  5. Tickets are free’d out, but there’s some kind of special announcement tomorrow, Tuesday, at 11am…perhaps another way to get more tickets

  6. brutal

  7. The only way they get me to this is if it is free, oh wait a minute never mind. I would rather they offer a decent line-up and charge me a decent price. Even at this price, this is a disaster. What a let-down.

  8. Wow…this lineup is worse than I thought it would be. I guess all the good bands really are at Outlands in San Francisco. Franz Ferdinand and Public Enemy for free might make it worth the ride though.

  9. Pft, for free?? I’ll pay the $10 service charge for this.

  10. Why didn’t they at least have this on Saturday the 29th…. a one-day festival on a Sunday!? Strange…

  11. gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  12. scratch that last comment, but damn, i got my tickets last year off a scalper, and not sure the year before then, hopefully i can get mine…even if I’m still questioning whether I go or not…it’s an impressive lineup for a free fest

  13. ohh, got it, will be posted on June 27th, i wonder how much service charges Ticketmaster charges for a free festival

  14. i can’t seem to get tickets at the link, are they not available yet?

  15. Weezer.com - Aug 30 show in DC TBA

  16. I question this one:
Uncle Funky, August 4, 2009 @ Virgin Festival (Pimlico Race Course)

  17. holy fuck are amazing live.

  18. Holy Fuck is pretty badass though, will need more before I even consider going to this

  19. VirginFREE fest it’s called now. Wonder how they’re gonna pull this off. gonna be a terrible lineup though. too bad

  20. Its ON!!! Virgin Freefest 8/30 at least. Holy Fuck is confirmed. No word on if something will go down on 8/29. To be hosted by Merriweather Post.

  21. Is it possible they’ll have a headline ABOVE these two? I mean, Blink is the worst band I’ve ever seen live (and that was when they were in their “prime.”)
Looks like indie bands for the undercard will be a little hard to come by too as Silversun Pickups and TV on the Radio will both be at a festival in San Fran during the rumored weekend. Got a feeling Virgin is going to be really weak.

  22. Heinous. Scrap Blink. Weezer is just stopping by. Far from a festival, more like a bore.

  23. I’m not going, even if this ends up being free as many have rumored……..unless, they have an awesome dance tent as it’s usually where I’m at most of the festival anyway

Merriweather is gonna blow for a fest, just as the last hfstival did, and I believe will be the end of Virgin Fest in the Bmore area…the only good thing i’m hearing so far about this fest is that it’s going to be late August or in September, so hopefully it won’t be god awful hot

  24. they’re just thowing something together really quickly to keep the festival going through this hard time… I bet you they don’t want to have the “Langerado” stigmata….

  25. Ridiculous! Still no announcement and other festivals around this time already have their day schedules. I hope that others like me boycott the festival for the simple reason that they’ve waited so long to release the info. terrible management this year. just terrible

  26. after last year’s lineup and headliners, this is pure crap…. both are good bands, but they might as well just call it a tour stop instead of a festival…..

  27. garbage….they really blew this years festival. good job virgin
