Lollapalooza 2012

Aug 03 - Aug 05 2012

Chicago, Illinois (Grant Park)

$95 (1-Day); SOLD OUT (3-Day)

Conceived and created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band, Lollapalooza ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. From its inception through 1997, and its revival in 2003, the festival toured North America. In 2004, the festival organizers decided to expand the dates to two days per city, however poor ticket sales forced the 2004 tour to be cancelled. In 2005, Farrell and the William Morris Agency partnered up with Austin, Texas-based company Capital Sports Entertainment (now C3 Presents) and retooled it into its current format as a weekend destination festival.

I do it every year and I never get my wish, but I’ll try again..Chemical Brothers.

I learned after this year, it doesn’t matter how excited you are for the lineup, if you go with good friends, you are going to have an amazing time.   I had the best experience this year and was less than thrilled with the lineup.   I discovered new bands that I now love, and have a weekend full of unforgettable memories.

Chili Peppers makes perfect sense, tourng in the fall, new album, headlined before. Radiohead also may tour next year so that’s a possibility. I wonder if there will be a dance headliner pretty much every year now? I’m gonna bet on Wilco headlining again, maybe against a dance act.

My dream lineup for next year’s Lolla would be RHCP, Blink 182, RATM, Everclear, Volbeat, Pixies, Jay-Z, Dropkick Murphy’s, and more……….

Headliners: Pixes, Shins, Kooks, Raconteurs, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Death Cab

NORTH vs SOUTH (PERRY’S)
Friday: Black Keys vs No Doubt (Justice)
Sat: Beastie Boys vs Janes Addiction (Kraftwerk)
Sun:RHCP vs Franz Ferdinand (Lupe Fiasco)

@joe zich those all seem pretty logical, you really know your stuff.

Just a guess..
Jay-Z & Kanye West -Queen- Bjork
Janes Addiction- Justice- Mumford and Sons

As far as headliners go, considering its success last year, Lollapalooza is should be sticking to a formula that goes something like this: Rap or pop act, Electronic act, Two big name rock band, A rock band that appeals to the “indie” demographic, and a legacy act from the 90′s or late 80′s.
My best guess for next year would have to be
Some combination of Jay Z and Kanye West for the rap spot
Justice would have made sense as the electronic spot had their second album made more of an impact. But who knows? Lolla’s headliner choices often surprise me.
Two ‘Big Name” rock acts- Too early to tell at this point. Wilco is a logical guess, as are many of the other names presented below
“Indie” demographic: Definitely the Black Keys. if the Black Keys do not headline lollapalooza, I will be shocked.
Legacy: Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

A little earlier than last year but here you guys go…

Black Keys
Mars Volta

That is all I have for now.

Spencer
December 5, 2011 at 3:38 pm

It’s December, so we have no way of knowing this lineup. It’s still fun to guess though.

That being said: Black Keys as a subheadliner. Justice at Perry’s. Radiohead on the main stage.

Anonymous
December 7, 2011 at 3:53 am

there is no way in hell that last years perry’s lineup will be topped in 2012. just saying. but it would be nice to see justice, chemical brothers, black keys, slightly stoopid, daft punk, kanyee, beck, the smiths….but eh no way in telling

ghaf
March 12, 2012 at 1:28 pm

It could easily be topped. The world of EDM moves fast and theres plenty of artists who have gotten huge since last august that would kill it at Perrys. I expect Avicii and Knife Party to be there to name a few.

red hot chili peppers recent rescheduled tour dates gives them a gap that perfectly fits lollapalooza, Radiohead is open in august, justice is open in august just sayin

Tyler
January 16, 2012 at 11:48 am

Uh, remember that TVOTR were slated to play shows in Chicago last May before they played Pitchfork, so it may be entirely possible that they are there too.

vargo05
January 16, 2012 at 11:59 am

How does that schedule makei t logical that M83 are going to be at Lolla?  If you are going to say that makes them a logical participant, aren’t RHCP “logical” as well?  Same goes with Jane’s Addiction.  If you are going to use the questionable logic of released tour dates, then you need to do it across the board for all likely artists.

you= guy making the most stupid comment of this generation :) Radiohead are the BEST band at providing sophisticated alt rock, changing their style with each album and consistently putting out good music. People unable to properly realize their greatness or RESPECT them as a band, are people unworthy of the musical wealth theyve provided. Now please get the fuck out of our sight, “Quizzle”, you esoteric named fuck.

Sleigh Bells open for Red Hot Chili Peppers for their tour but then they aren’t opening for them during their Chicago date. I think at the very least it makes them suspicious.

Juanjoetxebarria

They just changed their “Chicago” date to Rosemont, IL maybe trying not to break the exclusivity clause in their Lollapalooza contract

Radiohead seems probable, also bruce springsteen has no chicago date, not really a typical band but i wouldn tbe suprised

Billiam
January 25, 2012 at 7:57 pm

Leaving Chicago open doesn’t mean a damn thing for Pitchfork-approved bands.  Florence or M83 could play either fest.  M83 could do North Coast too.

Jtheall
January 26, 2012 at 9:41 am

@5b1867e4b4218f5bce8d81022776e7b3:disqus , I’m with you on that. I’d say P4k is most likely for M83 given all the coverage they’ve received from them. My guess is they get the slot Cut Copy had last year.

Anonymous
January 26, 2012 at 10:54 am

I dont entirely disagree…m83 is more likely for pitchfork, BUT Lolla is aug 3-5th.  so whichever day they/he plays, there will be more than one day to get to nyc for the show on the 8th.

Bill
January 26, 2012 at 11:18 am

This must be your first year following Lollapalooza lineup speculation.

Many Lollapalooza artists in the past have played that NYC Soundstage show that M83 is playing this year. If anything that show makes him/them more likely for Lollapalooza.

Chhadams
January 26, 2012 at 1:51 pm

RHCP seems like a safe bet.  Wondering if No Doubt will get an album and tour out in time to play Lolla.  I’d bet The Shins play Lolla too.  My question is who’ll get that 6th headlining slot: Shins, Florence, M83, Justice?

Chhadams
January 31, 2012 at 2:15 pm

I guess there are 9 headliners now given how big Perry’s stage is. There’s a pattern of making a band a headliner that normally might not have been one (K.O.L. and Phoenix in years past) and I’m speculating who that might be.  Wonder if Chem. Bros. or Bassnectar headline Perry’s this year too… (I’m admittedly not as up on who’s set to tour at any given time in the DJ world.)

mh
January 31, 2012 at 9:17 pm

Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, M83, Florence and the Machine, Neon Indian, Metronomy, Feist, Lana Del Rey, Justice, Sleigh Bells

evan
February 6, 2012 at 8:05 pm

No chicago date for the shins… suspect…. They could headline pitchfork easily, but I feel like they could either sub headline or possibly even be the “phoenix” headliner

Jeremy Pevnick
February 6, 2012 at 9:58 pm

I would bet money on Sleigh Bells considering they pulled out of last year’s specifically to make this new album and said “we’ll be back”.

Also I think Garbage is a possibility since they have a new record coming out and have said They’re doing “a bunch of summer festivals”. Lollapalooza makes more sense for them that anywhere else.

Abourke2

I talked with Israel of Blind Pilot after the show on Saturday in Urbana and he CONFIRMED Lollapalooza.

Mistrudels
February 6, 2012 at 10:36 pm

I don’t think the chilli peppers will play because Lollapalooza has a rule where you can’t play 6 months before Lollapalooza and they are playing in Chicago in may so…

evan
February 11, 2012 at 8:57 pm

as stupid as @lollaleak should seem, Perry Farrell’s kind of crazy opposition to its existence and his frequent attacks against it make it seem borderline credible. Maybe I’m just delirious at the faintest hint of loll getting the final Sonic Youth show

nathanfairchild
February 13, 2012 at 6:36 pm

if sigur rós are on the lineup then i’ll definitely be there.

P.
February 15, 2012 at 12:05 pm

@TheLollaLeaker is still active on Twitter and has been accurate in the past. A lot of stuff that’s getting posted around as coming from lollaleaks actually came from this account

Bill
February 15, 2012 at 3:29 pm

I have no idea why people think this. TheLollaLeaker was never accurate in the past. He just posted really vague things on his twitter account last year that talked about when golden tickets would go on sale. He knew as much about those as anyone who has ever visited the Lollapalooza message board.

MAC
February 15, 2012 at 5:07 pm

Agreed. It seems some blogs, including ones that seem professional, also ran with what @lollaleaks was reporting in his tweets. I really could not believe that some of these blogs were posting the info of an anonymous Twitter user. At least CoS only reported what came from reliable sources. Of course it’s possible some of what @lollaleaks reported is accurate. It’s not that hard to get an idea of who’s appearing where simply based on tour scheduling, and we know Lolla has a hard time keeping things quiet, but until I hear something from Greg Kot or the festival itself, it’s best to take his info with a grain of salt.

jpizzy
February 15, 2012 at 6:59 pm

Good points, but I wonder how people would feel about the headliners he posted…Metallica, Beyonce, Chili Peppers, Beck, Killers, Sonic Youth? They all do seem to make sense even if I’m not totally enthused.

MAC
February 17, 2012 at 1:41 am

If he ends up being accurate, the only one I think is really disappointing is The Killers. They just headlined in ’09 I believe, and it’s hard to believe they’re that in demand again. I’d be excited for Beck and Sonic Youth, and I’m sure I could find some enjoyment in a Metallica show. That said, I really hope Jack White is there, and I hope the Sigur Ros rumor is true, though they likely wouldn’t be a headliner, right?

jpizzy
February 19, 2012 at 12:10 am

I kinda think Sigur Ros could be like the final headliner. I can’t see them going on at like 6 or 7. Maybe they could play against somebody huge, like My Morning Jacket went up against Eminem last year.

nick sandoval
February 16, 2012 at 3:08 am

if beck, smashing pumpkins, sigur ros, and jack white are there, that would make this the best lineup ever. too good to be true. plus i’d have to miss at least one, since they’re all headlining material. if you add metallica and a hip hop act, i guess it’s possible. metallica, beck, and hip hop on the south end… sp jack white and sigur ros on the north end. though SP and Beck could go either way. But I’d love to see SP finally get to play lolla in chicago.

tim peters
February 20, 2012 at 5:34 pm

smashing pumpkins definitely aren’t headlining. If it was the original band then yeah, but they definitely aren’t headlining as billy corgan and friends. they could sub-headline, seeing as they sold out the riv and all, but they wouldn’t be headliners.

Is something going down in NYC this summer? A lot of bands (rhcp, rh, shins, ect.) who are touring the states are not playing in the NYC area.

gambit88
February 26, 2012 at 7:46 pm

Probably not. Most bands just haven’t released their full touring schedules. But RHCP already have two shows in the New York market in May and ppl on the Radiohead message boards are saying they are playing the Garden in May as well.

MR
February 28, 2012 at 5:20 pm

The reason there are no big NYC shows is because MSG is being closed for construction over the summer. So the huge acts have to get dates in Jersey (and unfortunately forcing us New Yorkers to make trips there

Zac
February 28, 2012 at 5:33 pm

Indeed. They make much more sense at Osheaga fest in Montreal.

Dan
February 28, 2012 at 5:34 pm

Also, even though I am a Black Keys fan, I think it would be a lame get after the fact they have played Lolla 7 million times, especially if that takes a headlining spot away.

Doug Murphy
February 28, 2012 at 8:11 pm

Even if you include every date from the traveling tours (which the Black Keys were not a part of), there have not been 7 million Lollapaloozas. Sorry Dan.

Gonna agree with Dan R. Booking DMB would essentially turn Lollapalooza into a Dave show for that day – he’d pull too much focus from the rest of the artists that day. Plus, Lollapalooza doesn’t book huge jam-band-y groups like DMB, Phish, or anyone from The Dead, since that’s not their audience.

big worm

They are also playing 2x deer creek (as well as 2x alpine).  They do not have to play chicago in any given year…  Tinley Park sucks anyway.

That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing them there, but there are much better choices IMHO.

Dan R
March 6, 2012 at 9:47 am

Are you guys forgetting that they had their own fest in Chicago last year where they headlined every night?  DMB does not fit the mold at Lolla.  Perry would not let that happen.

jpizzy

Sigur Ros makes sense when you consider their tour starts Aug. 18 in Japan and they’re playing European festivals throughout the month. Start it a couple weeks earlier in Chicago please!

There was quite a bit of overlap between Osheaga and Lolla last year. For the larger bands, it would be totally possible to do one and then the other the next day. I think the announcement is actually a good thing, cause it makes quite a few of the rumored groups logical contenders for Lolla.

Joey Lusvardi

Yeah, it makes it really hard to decide which to go to. Lolla is more financially responsible but if Osheaga has all the good artists (and their lineup is glorious) then would Lolla be worth it? Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Bands playing on friday at Osheaga can make it for Lolla on sunday (or maybe even saturday).

Joey Lusvardi
March 22, 2012 at 11:09 am

Yeah, I figured that. But that doesn’t mean they will be playing both. It just leaves the possibility open… Though let’s be real, I really hope there’s a lot of overlap!

guest
March 22, 2012 at 12:48 pm

there really should be no debate. lolla is in chicago, drinking age is higher, atmosphere is 100% strict and no nonsense. osheaga is in montreal where they are as relaxed and chilled out as any european festival. lineups aside, osheaga is a far more enjoyable experience.

Joey Lusvardi

Yes but… money. That’s the big problem. Osheaga would be WAY expensive for me.

I’m not a fan of the news of beyonce returning from being pregnant to continue her tour, the killers releasing their next album in the summer, metallica still having the ability to close out sunday which is totally still possible and then whatever comes with that…..other than that beck rumor, I sure as hell hope all that early rumor stuff doesn’t come to fruition. 3 garbage headliners

Orangejulius
March 26, 2012 at 2:10 pm

The Beck rumor is a good one; He’s only officially playing a couple dates out west, so he’d be a major boon for Lolla. I’ve been wanting to see him for years. I’m also excited about the Jack White rumors. His scheduled tour promptly ends at the end of July, leaving Lolla as a great possibility. We’re starting to sound like a Sasquatch of the midwest… Not a bad thing.

Liam

No I totally Agree, but I don’t know what the likelyhood of them being on the south stage is, and thats where the best place to be is. Idk, I would love kanye again, the cure or blur ( not that I know how big there following is still in the US) for bigger names on the South end.

I would bank more on some of those bands GOING to lolla that not.  Obviously both fests will be fairly different, but it is extremely easy for artists to play both 3 days festivals in the same weekend… as it has happened before.

Dnl Rust Music
March 28, 2012 at 9:39 am

Will people stop mentioning Radiohead.  They are playing in Chicago a month before.  THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE AT LOLLAPALOOZA.

rickster
March 29, 2012 at 1:39 am

They are not actually playing Chicago, they’re playing in Tinley Park which is a suburb of Chicago.  Theyre playing the biggest arenas all across the country on this tour and then just randomly decide to skip the United Center (2nd biggest NBA arena in the country, and in downtown chicago).  It has to seem just a little fishy that they would schedule only one amphitheater show (less lights, special effects, etc… than in an arena) on their entire US tour and it just happens to be in close proximity to Chicago.  Yeah book em for a giant spectacle of a headlining show at Lolla…

Dan R
March 29, 2012 at 9:48 am

Lollapalooza has a proximity clause, and yes, Tinley Park is Chicago. It is only 30 minutes outside of downtown.  That is still considered Chicago. Bands that are playing Lollapalooza can’t play a show within a certain radius for a few months leading up to the fest.  If C3 was paying mega bucks to get Radiohead to headline, they would not want them playing a show in the same city less than 2 months before the fest.  Then all the people who were going to buy tickets for the day Radiohead was playing Lolla would instead go to the Tinley Park show.  Even Alpine Valley is included in the proximity clause.  Do some research before you just blindly make assumptions.

rickster
March 29, 2012 at 12:41 pm

Blindly make assumptions??  Yes the proximity clause is there but all the artist has to do is ask C3 to remove it and they more than not will, ie. MGMT in 2010, played in Chicago at The Riv in June and then subheadlined Lolla.  Again why do you think that Radiohead is playing First Midwest and not the UC??  You have to think that a giant promoter such as C3 had something to do with that.  Radiohead did not announce this chicago date until the second announcement of their tour dates giving them more time to negotiate with C3 about playing Lolla and then in this second announcement there is one show that sticks out like a sore thumb on the list and that being the only outdoors show at First Midwest.  Book em, you think that lolla wouldn’t try their absolute hardest to get Radiohead after Bonnaroo got them and Coachella got them for 2 consecutive weekends, yeah they’ll be there.

Dan R
March 29, 2012 at 2:24 pm

I agree that First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre sucks. Like most ampitheaters, the sound is not going to be great compared to indoor venues.  I also did find it strange that they aren’t playing the UC, could be something to do with Lolla, could also be the promoters in Chicago. I am not so sure I would rather see them at Lollapalooza still.  You’re going to be fighting off 50,000 people trying to make it to the stage, and most likely you will not end up anywhere near close to the stage, unless you post up there all day. (which i always thought was stupid) Why go to a music festival and sit at one stage waiting for a headliner when there are a 100 bands there you could be enjoying or discovering? I would personally rather see them among 5,000-10,000 people. But I digress.  I am not saying that C3 would not want to get Radiohead. Ofcourse any fest would. And yes, Radiohead would be big enough to ask C3 to get rid of the proximity clause.  I will not completely rule it out given that anything is possible. I am just tired of people just making guesses for the sake of guessing on these blogs as if we weren’t all thinking the same thing.  The original post said “Radiohead?”…OMG, why didn’t anyone else think of that? That guys a genius (obv sarcasm). I’m still hung up on the fact that Tinley Park is not Chicago, as if people would not travel 30 minutes by car or a short Metra ride to see one of the biggest bands on the planet?  I don’t understand the logic. If a band books First Midwest Bank, that is their Chicago date. They don’t play there and the UC or Allstate (which is technically not in the city limits either).  That’s it.  That is where Q101 Jamboree had always been held. It’s where the Warp Tour comes every year. Not to mention a ton of big bands every year.  It is Chicago.

MAC
March 29, 2012 at 8:20 pm

I understand what you’re saying but, no, it is not Chicago. Yes, many bands consider it their Chicago date, but that wasn’t really the point. Anyway, there are plenty of people within Chicago (especially North Side) who would not be willing to travel to Tinley Park for the show especially given the venue’s quality. On the other hand, Lollapalooza is an internationally known music festival that lures in people from many different places, not just the Chicago area. It’s possible for them to do both, but, yeah, the likelihood is slim.

I get your point about sitting in front of one stage. I feel the same way, but that doesn’t change the fact that many, many people will do it.

evan
March 29, 2012 at 4:24 pm

should be noted that radiohead’s greater chicago area date is tail end of the nba playoffs/finals. With the bulls playing so well this year, it wouldn’t be out of the question for the UC to block all dates that might conflict with basketball.

MAC
March 29, 2012 at 8:11 pm

I thought that myself, but it’s hard to believe. Concerts have conflicted with NBA/NHL playoffs before. It’s not tough to schedule around, especially since both leagues are happier the longer the playoffs go. We’re also assuming it would be at the UC. They could have also done a couple of nights at a theater (Chicago Theater, The Auditorium) like they’re doing in NYC.

MAC
March 29, 2012 at 1:10 pm

Not necessarily agreeing with rickster, but Tinley Park IS NOT Chicago. It’s almost not even Cook County. The amphitheater they’re playing is notoriously bad, and it really doesn’t fit in with most of the venues they’re scheduled at. People within the Chicago area would probably much rather see them at Lolla than First Midwest Bank Amphitheater. The quality of the venue was actually reported on in many articles when the show was announced, and almost everyone I know lamented the fact that they’re playing there. Also, C3 drops the radius clause if bands ask. Given Radiohead’s enormous fan base, it’s really not totally crazy for someone to think Lolla is still possible.

Michiryan
March 29, 2012 at 1:20 pm

The amphitheater in Tinley Park is one of the largest in the country.  FAR bigger than any indoor arena.  Seriously, do some research first.

Robby Nichols

Haha seeing there’s been a million different things goin on, I would say with north coast festival still to happen, they have to get one of the premier EDM acts right now, and we wouldnt get swedish house mafia and avicii.

I have changed what I think the headliners are like a million times but now I’d say

Watch The Throne-Red Hot Chili Peppers-The Black Keys

Jack White-Swedish House Mafia-M.I.A.

I mean there’s gotta be a little validty to the early lolla leaks guy, not necessarily the main headliners, but with two electronic acts being thrown in, I mean id say that at least has some variety. Give or take red hot chili peppers with the killers/Beck

As apposed to

Black Sabbath-Jay or Ye-The Black Keys

Jack White-Swedish House Mafia-Avicii

I don’t really see that much wide spread appeal to those really

Plus the lolla page said that perry’s would in fact be returning, so we will likely get a couple of the big acts from north coast last year, Bassnectar/Wiz/Fatboy Slim etc.

April 2, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Swedish House Mafia will be there on Friday, August 3rd so Axwell can go back to Europe for the next night….Justice will for sure be the other main electronic headliner since they’ve been confirmed on CTA (they are too big not to be main headliner)….Bassnectar is for almost for sure going to close Perry’s one night b/c he’s at Lolla Brazil and Chile and has wayy too much open slotting during Lolla time, and is making his only Chicago run in a week, giving him 4 months off before returning…..Fatboy Slim would be amazing, he was one of the top acts at Ultra this year…and given that Avicii skipped out on Chicago during his US tour I wouldn’t be surprised if he closed Perry’s one of the other nights….Kaskade will for sure be playing Sunday in Perrys…whether he closes depends on the other acts but he’ll probably play the 3rd or 2nd to last set..Lolla is gonna be way more electronic-oriented this year given the direction music is heading right now…

Anyone has seen the line-up for montreal festival Osheaga? Because most of the artists listed above play there and the festival is the same date as Lollapalooza

Maggles
April 4, 2012 at 12:22 am

Already noted. But while a good handful will play both fests, don’t expect the lineups to be very much the same. It’s likely that if a band plays the Saturday at Osheaga they won’t appear at Lolla.

Erin you blockhead.

erin
April 11, 2012 at 5:58 am

who’s the blockhead now?

BaxterZD
April 11, 2012 at 4:39 pm

Still you.  You see Erin, Lollaleaks was making a joke.  He sarcastically suggested that he saw a sign with no lyrics, and remarked that it must be Explosions in the Sky, a band who does not write lyrics.  At the time of Lollaleaks remark, there was already evidence that Sigur Ros was playing lolla, as per the CTA ads: there was one with Sigur Ros lyrics.  Whereas Explosions in the Sky are known for not writing any lyrics whatsoever, Sigur Ros does have songs with lyrics.  So, your insinuation that it “could be sigur ros” was a blockhead remark for 3 reasons: 1. Lollaleaks was making a joke which you took to be a serious remark, 2. Sigur Ros songs have lyrics and 3. Sigur Ros already had a confirmed ad on the cta depicting their own lyrics at the time of lollaleaks’ posting here.

I don’t see it either, but there is some further evidence. They are coming to Summer Camp with Gigantic Underground Conspiracy, both members of Big G will be there but they aren’t on the lineup. Being that Lolla is uptight about where bands play in the months prior and Summer Camp is in Chillicothe, IL, it seems logical.

Where do people get this crap from?

Yes, there is probably a radius clause.  Are the terms different for each artist? Probably. Fact of the matter is, it is up to C3′s discretion to enforce/modify this “clause” for every artist on the lineup.

Abourke2
April 9, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Delta Spirit played last year? and isn’t Black Sabbath only playing Ozzfest?

Rollingbeatles
April 9, 2012 at 5:44 pm

There is no Ozzfest this year.  Ozzy is doing Ozzy and friends with Slash and Zack Wylde.  Sabbath said they would only play one US show this Summer, but were very vague as to where it was gonna be.

Delta Spirit did play last year, but they just put another new album out so I could see them playing again.  As long as they have something new to promote.  I hope they’re there, I love them live.

Elliot
April 8, 2012 at 8:56 pm

Legit leak? It’s all in portuguese, but it roughly translates to: this guy got his hands on the lineup for the “Gringo” (read: North American) show while at the Brazil Lolla.

This looks extremely legit going by all the rumors and such over the past few weeks. This would be a pretty damn solid festival. I think the headliners are a little underwhelming (I’m not even sure who top 6 are) but I think the middle and undercard is very nice.

Elliot
April 9, 2012 at 11:01 am

No Silversun Pickups?!   Tsssss.   Disappointing.   Any why can’t Mazzy Star play another festival other than Coachella.  Thought for sure they’d be at Lolla…may in the spot the Cars had last year.   Sabbath will be sick…I’m just worried about how they’re going to oppose each headliner since most are guitar based rock acts.

I still believe Manson is going to be there. Korn….that was a bunch of shit, really don’t know why anyone would think Korn. Deftones and a perfect circle arent really the best examples as their music is still relevant to lots of people. Korn is basically johnathon davis and fieldly… Unless fieldly finally left. With mansons new album (fuckin excellent by the way) and no Chicago date on the tour it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility and also, maybe perry thought having him on the initial lineup would spark controversy, and possibly effect ticket sales.

I’m not sure they’re going to pit Avicii vs Calvin Harris & Justice vs Kaskade. They might throw in a different genre on Perry’s, like when Kid Cudi played at the same time as Deadmau5.

I’m thinking Santigold will close Perry’s on Saturday and maybe Little Dragon Sunday. LD seems a stretch though.
