Arcade Fire is giving a lecture on Monday 3/19 at UT. I don’t know if that means anything… though a surprise SXSW show would be awesome!

Might as well add Andrew WK back, even if SXSW hasn’t confirmed it. Charli XCX also posted on Facebook that she’s coming. Loving this line-up.

Looks like some of the artists that had “paperwork issues” (from the other post- don’t have the link) have gotten them figured out and have been added to sxsw.com… best coast, caveman, living things, tristen just to name a few…

Also KASABIAN!!

Nice! Can you post a full list of the new ‘additions’ that you notice?

Appreciate it. I think be prepared is the best of all the tips you provided. We need to be prepared for everything and only then whatever we do will be successful.

I have heard that the artist , Aharon will be at this years festival , but I haven’ seen him listed . For anyone that doesn’t know who , Aharon , is , go to you tube or yahoo and put in Aharon / Dreamer . He is a very talented artist .

Do512 has Bloc Party listed. And I’m sure Kasabian will be there with their tour schedule…

just curious, where are you getting this list?  a lot of these bands aren’t on the SXSW Web site (Mystery Jets for one, and they’re not labeled “New” so I’m not sure how I missed them on the official SXSW site).  thanks.

There’s all kinds of unsanctioned, free shows in and around downtown Austin. You should just go.

free shows are where it’s at. all but the biggest of bands play ‘em (some play one, most play multiple; up to ~8), they’re all compiled in one easy-to-read space in the weeks and days leading up to the festival (showlistaustin.com), free beer and food in a lot of ‘em.

by the time nights come, in my experience you’re way too exhausted to enjoy it anyway. there’s free nightshows across the city, too.

it’s most definitely worth it, even if you come without a badge or wristband.

there is day shows at all the clubs that are free, first come, first serve. then for the night shows, you can purchase a music wristband if you are lucky.. that gives you access to all the clubs on first come first serve basis. you can risk paying cash at the door of each club, but you wont get in all the time. keep in mind, the wristband doesnt promise you will get in, you just dont have to pay and you get in before cash people
