It takes some bands years to find a new frontman. But UK hardcore outfit Gallows needed only a month to replace longtime vocalist Frank Carter. According to Kerrang!, the band has tapped former Alexisonfire guitarist/vocalist Wade MacNeil to fill Cater’s void.

Gallows have been in the studio working on the follow up to 2009′s Grey Britain. Explaining his departure in an open letter posted on his website, Carter writes, “It seems that Gallows have hit a crossroads in our writing process and unfortunately myself and the rest of the boys have different ideas regarding the sound of Gallows going forward.”

In turn, Carter has already launched a new band called Pure Love. He plans to release their debut album and tour this fall.

After performing in Halifax for Canada’s Winter Games February 26th, Green will spend four days at SXSW playing various Austin venues, and then set out on a predominantly sold-out Australian tour. Green will spend late March in LA, Chicago, and New York, before traveling down under for a six-date tour. Between festival appearances in Indio, CA and George, WA, City and Colour plays London’s Royal Albert Hall April 25th. Chart the dates below.

While on tour, expect Green to perform new tracks off City and Colour’s forthcoming album, Little Hell. The project’s third full-length was recorded earlier this month at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, Ontario, with the assistance of producer/engineer/mixer Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, Mars Volta, Death Cab For Cutie). The album track listing and exact release date have not yet been announced, but City and Colour did reveal the album’s wonderfully retro artwork (top right). Little Hell will be released this June via Vagrant Records. If you haven’t secured a ticket, good luck, because performances are selling out.
