			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Having always done things their own way, Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover of the seminal grunge rock group <a href="http://www.myspace.com/themelvins">Melvins</a> do just that with their long talked about remix album. Luckily for us it&#8217;s a classic case of under promise and over deliver.</p>
<p>Osborne and Crover put together a roster of the top experimental producers that include <a href="http://www.myspace.com/matmos1">Matmos</a>, <a href="http://www.merzbow.net/">Merzbow</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/boredoms">Eye Yamatsuke</a> and gave each of them an open ended task; Take one of our albums, and have at it. If that wasn&#8217;t enough, the remixers also had complete control over naming each of their recreations.</p>
<p>The end result <em>Chicken Switch</em> is a 15 track effort with track names such as &#8220;She Chokes Her Dying Breath and Does It In My Face&#8221; and &#8220;The Silky Apple Butter of Youth&#8221;. Mike Patton&#8217;s Ipecac records will release the album on September 29th.</p>
<p>In other news, the Melvins are currently getting ready to tour the U.S., which will include a performance at <a href="http://consequenceofsound.net/festival-outlook/atp-new-york/">ATP New York</a>.
