Mercury Rev, Joy Formidable, White Rabbits kick off inagural Truck America Festival

This April, Europe’s super indie Truck Festival will debut its brand new American component, this being the aptly titled Truck America Festival. Set to take part in the inaugural festivities, which run from April 30 – May 2 at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY are upstate NY legends Mercury Rev, as well as White Rabbits, Neil Halstead, The Joy Formidable, The Sadies, The Silent League, and Hopewell. More bands will be announced soon; tickets, priced at $120.00, are available here.

ATP New York finalizes 2009 bill; adds Bob Mould, Black Moth Super Rainbow, and others

As if their 2009 bill wasn’t good enough already, organizers behind this year’s ATP New York have confirmed a final few acts. Now scheduled to join The Flaming Lips, The Jesus Lizard, Suicide, Melvins, Animal Collective, and the rest of the ’09 ATP bill between September 11th and 13th in Monticello, NY are Black Moth Super Rainbow, Birds Of Avalon, Menomena, and Hopewell. Comedian and host of Friday’s festivities David Cross has tapped The Fuggedabuddies (Eugene Mirman, Jon Benjamin & Jon Glaser) and Derrick Brown and the Navy Gravy for the comedy stage. Oh yeah, and then there’s something about Bob Mould joining No Age when the Los Angeles act performs the songs of Hüsker Dü on Sunday.

Yeah, so how about that ATP New York 2009…
