Here, Yuill manages to successfully conjoin fast-paced dynamic beats with soothing acoustic guitar riffs in a manner that almost attempts to fuse acoustic folk with aggressive techno. And as crazy as it sounds “folktronica” just works somehow.

Of course as any other good artist out there, Yuill’s already started slamming us with a ton of new goodies before Turning Down Water For Air hits stores this May, including a brand new video and a 6-track EP equipped with some remixes of the new single “No Pins Allowed” and a cover of Radiohead’s “Packt Like Sardines In A Crushed Tin Box”. Thrilling, no? Well, just wait ‘till you watch the video!

Now, if you are a fan of the strange and nonsensical then “No Pins Allowed” is certainly for you. Much in the style of A Clockwork Orange, Yuill is seen flailing wildly about while wearing a black suit and tie and alternating between thick coats of black and white face paint and some rather eerie white masks. Basically, the entire video is composed solely of a series of remixed and choppy images that appear to exemplify the wonders of awkward human movement in a manner that screams for another zombie dance party. Seriously, it’s just too good to be true.

Oddly enough “No Pins Allowed” kind of creates an awkward ‘should I dance or not’ situation for its viewers, considering its dominant sweet melody that’s cast delicately over a strong electro backbeat.
