Tired of the fall already? Jack Frost nipping too much at your nose a little early this year? Well listen up Parrotheads, have I got a surprise for you! According to new details (via Spinner), the ‘ol beach house Captain himself, Jimmy Buffett will release his first album in three years. Notably titled Buffett Hotel, it refers to a Colonial-style hotel that existed in the country of Mali back in the 1960′s, while serving as the biggest place to hear live music as well. As a result, Buffett’s newest offering which sees a December 8th release, contains twelve new drinking cuts as well as the song “Summerzcool” which became the name of his most recent summer tour.

While the fall has set in around most of the country, Buffett and his band of beach banditos know how to keep those sunshine rays going. Just think in time for the holidays with your “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger In Paradise”, Buffett Hotel will be the perfect getaway to fight off those winter-baby blues.

Neil Young rounds up No Doubt, Chris Martin, Monsters of Folk, and more for 23rd Bridge School Benefit

From October 23-24, Neil Young will return Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountan View, California for his 23rd annual Bridge School Benefit. And as always, he’ll once again be bringing quite the cast of heavy hitters with him.

No Doubt, Jimmy Buffett, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Sheryl Crow are among the acts confirmed to take part in the two-day event. So are Adam Sandler, Gavin Rossale, and Wolfmother, as well as a number of indie favorites, including Fleet Foxes and the newly formed super group known as Monsters of Folk. And of course, Neil Young will take a break from playing host to also give a musical performance.

The annual event, which is put on by Young and his wife Pegi, benefits The Bridge School, a program for the communicative and educational development of children with severe speech and physical impairments.

Tickets will go on sale beginning Sunday, September 20th at 10 a.m. PDT via Livenation.com. Advance tickets are $150.00 and $75.00 for reserved seating and $39.50 for general admission plus applicable service charges. Four packs of general admission tickets may be purchased for $99.00. There is a 4 ticket limit for reserved seats and 8 ticket limit on the lawn for these shows.

Add a little Margaritaville to Bonnaroo ’09

Here’s something for all you kids out there: On Saturday, June 13th (that’s this weekend), Ilo and the Coral Reefer Allstars will take the to the Which Stage for a set at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival. Joining them for the performance will be Mac McAnally and some other dude you’ve probably heard of. He goes by the name Jimmy Buffett.

Yeah, no joke here. Today, Nadirah Shakoor, a member of the Coral Reefer Allstars, confirmed the rumors that first popped up last weekend via Twitter: “Sat. May June 13th I’m doing Bonnaroo with Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally! I am honored and excited! Showtime is 12:30 pm.

We’ll leave the joking aside, though I will say, if there was ever a weekend where passionate fan bases were to do battle in an epic battle royal, this would be it. Parrotheads vs. Phishnatics vs. sign-wielding Bruce fans! Oh, the possibilities.
