So-Cal best buds are set to tag team the East Coast.

After their winter road trip, Southern California indie-darlings The Album Leaf and Sea Wolf will again pound the pavement together for a month-long jaunt through the Midwest and along the eastern seaboard. The tour has two Canadian stops and will end in The Album Leaf’s hometown of San Diego.

Despite their rising popularity, Sea Wolf — the brainchild of Alex Brown Church — will be playing support for the So-Cal electro-rockers on all dates. Sea Wolf is experiencing new popularity thanks in part to having a song (“The Violet Hour”) on the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack, but it’s probably safe to say that a lot of the YouTube cover artists won’t be making many of shows (sorry, shows are 18 and up).

Both bands are also issuing limited edition vinyl releases on Record Store Day (April 17th) and Church, who is from Los Angeles, is still touring behind last year’s Dangerbird release, White Water, White Bloom, which added some muscle to the more subdued folk sound on 2007’s Leaves In The River.

Tickets for select dates are available on Ticketmaster.com.

The second annual Harvest of Hope Music Festival will return to St. Augustine, FL this March 12-14, and one thing is becoming quite clear: music’s most underrated music festival is quickly becoming one of music’s most stellar music festivals.

This year’s lineup once again again showcases a diverse roster of national and international acts, including alt-rock legend Billy Bragg, acclaimed folk-rock outfit The Mountain Goats, psychedelic rockers Dr. Dog, indie sensations Rogue Wave, UK punk band Leatherface, and the hardcore group Senses Fail. And that’s just getting started.

Man Man, Delta Spirit, Anti-Flag, The Moldy Peaches’ Kimya Dawson, Torche, High on Fire, Anvil, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Portugal. the Man, Danielson, Of Montreal’s James Husband, Past Lives, Bear In Heaven, Freelance Whales, Dead Confederate, Fruit Bats, and Dr. Octagon (aka Kool Keith) are also confirmed participants. The full list of notables can be found here.

Three-day tickets are on sale now and still incredibly cheap, however, they will rise in price as the festival draws closer. From January 14th through February 11th, tickets will be available at the early-bird price of $39.50. From February 12th to March 11th, they will jump to $49.50. Walk-up 3-day tickets will be $60.00. Single day tickets will be available for $25.00/day in advance and $35.00/day weekend of. Three-day camping passes are also now available at $19.50/person. A small number of VIP passes are available at $99.50 per person. The VIP pass includes access to the VIP camping area, a three-day festival pass, and extra goodies. Find all the info here.

Of course, we’d be remiss not to note that Harvest of Hope serves to raise awareness and provide financial support for the Harvest of Hope Foundation, a charity organization that aids migrant farm workers across the country.

We can’t make you care about making the world a better place; hell, if your parents or overzealous girlfriend can’t, no one might ever. But you can be suckered into a noble cause. And just how might some dastardly fiend do that? Throw on a killer show featuring the likes of Band of Horses and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and kick all the proceeds to cancer kids. Like taking candy from a baby.

The aforementioned show (with a heads-up thanks to TinyMixTapes) is to raise money for the Pablove Foundation. The organization works to provide funding and health care for kids without insurance and to improve hospital playrooms. The show will also feature the likes of Tom Morello, Sea Wolf, Shirley Manson, Tom Gabel of Against Me!, Butch Walker, Songs for Kids, and many more musical surprises.

The show goes down November 21st at the Avalon in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com and a portion, obviously, goes to the Pablove Foundation and its corresponding programs. Seriously, do you need any other reason to go at this point?

The New Moon soundtrack has already proved to be quite a big deal. If you need any evidence of this, just ask the 153,000 people who helped the effort hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200. But as it turns out, the fun is really only getting started.

On November 6th, four of the soundtrack’s participants, Sea Wolf, Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina, and Band of Skulls, will perform at a special Twilight: New Moon event at the Hollywood & Highland complex in Los Angeles, California. A Q&A with select cast members will also be part of the festivities.

According to the Hollywood & Highland’s website, the event will serve as the kickoff for something called the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon Tour.” A quick Google search of this term leads us to MTV.com, which describes the tour as the following:

At each of the events’ 15 city stops, Twilighters will be treated to activities, games, Q&As with the cast and in many cities performances by the bands on the “New Moon” soundtrack.

Fans will be able to acquire VIP credentials, via the purchase of a New Moon t-shirt at a Hot Topic store, in order to gain access to a special event with select cast members at their respective malls. However, it looks like it will cost you absolutely nothing to watch Ben Gibbard and Co. performing “Meet Me on the Equinox”.

However, it looks like it will cost you absolutely nothing to watch Ben Gibbard and Co. performing "Meet Me on the Equinox".

Who's dropping new releases soon? Find out now!

The following artists will be dropping new releases in the coming months…

Sea Wolf:

After presenting us with Leaves in the River in 2007, Los Angeles indie rock outfit Sea Wolf will return on September 22 with White Water, White Bloom. River, Sea, Water … I’m sensing a trend! Produced by Monster of Folk’s Mike Mogis, the 10-track effort was penned solely by frontman Alex Brown Church, but will feature the talents of a full band, including keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Ted Liscinski, and drummer Joey Ficken.

The “raw” and “dynamic” energy that the foursome developed through extensive touring is said to be reflective throughout, resulting in an album described as this: “Set against the changing of seasons, the record unfolds like an epic poem over 10 tracks. Pulsing with evocations of nature at its most elemental, Sea Wolf’s songs are filled with vivid imagery and a cinematic sense of movement.”

El Perro Del Mar:

Sweden-based El Perro Del Mar, known informally as Sarah Assbring, will unveil her third full-length album, Love Is Not Pop, on October 20 via Control Group. Described as a, “conscious step away from what I did on my last album,” the seven-track effort is Assbring’s attempt to, “look further into ways of writing and expressing myself.” As a result, “the mindset is darker and the soundscape mysteriously groovy,” she goes on to explain. Rasmus Hägg, the other half of the acclaimed Swedish duo Studio, served as co-producer.

Music Go Music:

The Los Angeles trio known as Music Go Music will make its full-length debut on October 6 with the release of Expressions via Secretly Canadian. The band describes its music as visual and funky pop, and based on the album’s first single that’s probably what you can expect to hear throughout the nine-track effort. There’s also this little anecdote worth mentioning: “No happier thought passes through our minds than that of a bevy of middle-aged women dancing to our music,” Music Go Music proclaims. I think we can all get behind that.

<content:mobile>The following artists will be dropping new releases in the coming months...
Sea Wolf:
After presenting us with Leaves in the River in 2007, Los Angeles indie rock outfit Sea Wolf will return on September 22 with White Water, White Bloom. River, Sea, Water ... I'm sensing a trend! Produced by Monster of Folk's Mike Mogis, the 10-track effort was penned solely by frontman Alex Brown Church, but will feature the talents of a full band, including keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Ted Liscinski, and drummer Joey Ficken.

The "raw" and "dynamic" energy that the foursome developed through extensive touring is said to be reflective throughout, resulting in an album described as this: "Set against the changing of seasons, the record unfolds like an epic poem over 10 tracks. Pulsing with evocations of nature at its most elemental, Sea Wolf's songs are filled with vivid imagery and a cinematic sense of movement."
