Masterpiece Films: Halloween

on October 25, 2016, 4:30pm

Albums are hardly the only art form to be declared masterpieces. How many teachers have said the same about books? Or museums with rare art? Films are no different, which is why we brought in the very wise and very noble Leah Pickett to host our most excellent new video series, Masterpiece Films. So, join us in the luxurious Music Box Lounge, where we discuss the greatest stories to ever hit celluloid.

With less than a week to go until Halloween, today’s episode focuses on the 1978 classic horror film of the same name. The independent film, directed by John Carpenter, was made on a small budget of only $300,000 and shot entirely in 20 days. Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, and Nick Castle as the iconic killer Michael Myers, Halloween continues to amass horrified audiences around the world, has spawned a slew of sequels and remakes, and has even been included in the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress.
