Death Cab plots spring trek

on January 26, 2009, 12:34pm

Turns out not even an engagement to Zooey Deschanel can slow down Death Cab for Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard. Between his band’s appearance on an upcoming Starbucks compilation, copyright issues with the label, and slew of new tour dates, the Seattle native will barely have enough time to work on a new Postal Service album, let alone plan a wedding.

As for those aforementioned tour dates, they were officially unveiled today, and will see Death Cab embark on a twenty-date U.S. tour following the band’s headlining appearance at the Langerado Music Festival. The dates, which will feature the likes of Cold War Kids, Ra Ra Riot, and Matt Costa as opening acts – talk about awesome! – will likely serve in support of last year’s Narrow Stairs. Then again, considering Chris Walla’s recent comments to Alternative Press, a new, more radio-friendly album could soon be on the horizon.
