The Avett Brothers explore I and Love and You

on April 22, 2009, 10:45am

North Carolina’s The Avett Brothers have been blurring the lines between bluegrass, rock, folk, and even punk, for quite some time. Since their 2000 inception, the guys have been displaying their knack for beautifully crafted tunes through record releases and live shows alike, continually balancing raw energy and southern twang. It’s hard not to fall in love with the self-described “post-something” sound that the Avett Brothers create as they attack their banjos and tear their fiddles to shreds.

The tradition will continue come August 11th, the set date for the release of the Bro’s 10th (yes, 10th) studio release and first with American Recordings, I and Love and You. And just so you get a chance to catch the riveting experience that is an Avett Brothers performance, there will be 48 shows to choose from on an upcoming accompanying tour. The tour will begin in Indianapolis on the 16th of April and end in Myrtle Beach on July 25th, including eight opening spots for Dave Matthews Band and one with Widespread Panic. They will also be appearing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Sasquatch! Music Festival, and Forecastle Festival. Having recently been added to Rolling Stone’s The New Bluegrass: Five Artists to Watch these guys are certainly not to be missed on the live circuit.
