It’s already been quite an eventful week for All Points West Music Festival… and that was before organizers managed to piece together and share its 2009 schedule. Today, they did just that, revealing who and when you’ll be seeing once the Jersey City based festival officially kicks off next weekend.
Friday features the closest thing to an indie kid’s wet dream with Fleet Foxes, The National, Vampire Weekend, and the Yeah Yeah Yeah all playing on the same stage. The same could probably describe a hip-hop fan’s perspective in the evening, what with Organzied Konfusion, Pharcyde, and Q-Tip playing back-to-back-to-back on the Bullet Stage before being ultimately capped off by a performance from the night’s headliner, Jay-Z, at Blue Comet.
Saturday’s got a few conflicts with St. Vincent going against Gogol Bordello and Tokyo Police Club performing at the same time as My Bloody Valentine. Notice how I didn’t mention how The Ting Tings’ set conflicts with that of Tool’s.
APW’s final day has The Gaslight Anthem leading into Silversun Pickups leading into Elbow leading into Echo & the Bunneymen leading into Coldplay. In other words, find a good spot and get comfortable! If you do to choose to venture away from Blue Commet, Akron/Family, Mogwai, The Black Keys, MGMT, and Hey Champ are all also performing on Sunday. Wait a minute… MGMT vs. Coldplay? Anyone want to take bets as to who will draw a better crowd?
