Springsteen to play Born to Run (in its entirety) in Chicago

on July 28, 2009, 9:05am

In news too awesome to make up, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will reportedly play Born to Run in its entirety, from track numero uno (“Thunder Road” to numero ocho (“Jungeland”), at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on September 20, 2009.

Let me repeat that for all who missed it: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street will reportedly play one of the best albums ever heard by man in its entirety for the lucky ducks who hit up Chi-Town’s United Center on the 20th of September in the year 2009.

The news comes from The Chicago Tribune‘s Greg Kot, who is a reliable fellow and has a reputation for leaking rather prudent information. It is further backed by the fact that Springsteen and Co. have done this thing before, most recently at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey in May of 2008.

Let’s just hope for the sake of hoping that it’s not another 18 months before The Boss repeats this action. (Feel free to do the same thing when you play Giants Stadium a month later!)

Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale beginning Saturday, August 1st via Ticketmaster.com.
