KISS still alive after 35 years, celebrates with “KISS ALIVE 35”

on August 24, 2009, 11:30am

Well, you sure can’t say KISS doesn’t know how to throw a party… or celebrate an anniversary. In addition to marking its 35th year together with the release of its first new studio album in 11 years, the New York outfit has officially mapped out the fan-curated “KISS ALIVE 35” North American tour.

Kicking off with a two-date stint in Detroit on September 25th, the endeavor currently spans over 30 dates and three months before coming to an end on December 6th in Houston. Accompanying the band as they make its way through a “2 1/2 hour set of some of rock’s greatest hits,” which will include songs from the forthcoming Sonic Bloom as well 1975’s KISS Alive, will be a brand new stage set up featuring everything from pyro effects to brand new costumes. Sounds like fun.

Buckcherry will be main support on all of the “KISS ALIVE 35” North American dates. The first round of tickets will go on sale beginning Saturday, August 29th via Ticketmaster.com. Hit kissonline.com for complete ticket information.

As alluded to above and previously reported, KISS’ new studio album, Sonic Bloom, will be released exclusively at Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam’s Club retail locations beginning October 6th.
